
Harvey Homers Twice as Buckeyes Down Butler, 13-3

Game Recap
- Butler got on the board first, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning off a solo home run.
- In the bottom of the third inning with one out, Alex Bemis doubled to right center and then swiped third base. A single to right center from Henry Kaczmar sent Bemis home to tie the score, 1-1.
- An RBI single from the Bulldogs in the top of the fourth put them back in the lead, 2-1.
- With one out on the board in the bottom of the fifth inning, Bemis and Kaczmar hit back-to-back singles. A groundout from Noah Furcht advanced both runners into scoring position. Mason Eckelman was then intentionally walked to load the bases. Harvey stepped up to the dish next, and he blasted a grand slam 390 feet out of the park to give the Buckeyes a 5-2 lead over the Bulldogs.
- With one out in the bottom of the sixth, Miles Vandenheuvel and CJ Reid hit consecutive singles. After a Butler pitching change, Bemis walked to load up the bases. A sacrifice fly from Kaczmar scored Vandenheuvel and a single to left field from Eckelman sent Reid and Bemis home to extend the Ohio State lead, 8-2.
- Butler added a run on an RBI groundout in the top of the seventh, but the Buckeyes remained ahead, 8-3.
- Maddix Simspon led off with an infield single in the bottom of the seventh frame. With two outs, Reid singled up the middle, advancing Simpson to third to put runners on the corners. Bemis was next at the plate and he went yard, sending three runs home to give Ohio State a commanding eight-run lead over the Bulldogs, 11-3.
- Furcht was hit by a pitch to lead off the bottom of the eighth inning for the Buckeyes. With one out, Harvey came up to the plate and once again came up big, sending the ball over the right field wall to send two runs and secure the 13-3 walk-off, run-rule victory for the Buckeyes.
- Harvey's two home runs are his career-high in a single game. He led the Buckeyes with a career-high six RBIs.
- Bemis and Kaczmar led the team in hits with three each. It is a career-high for Bemis.
- Bemis had three RBIs and four runs scored, which are both career-highs.
- Harvey, Simpson and Reid each added two hits for the Buckeyes.
- Chris Domke (2-3) earned the win on the mound. He struck out six, just one short of his career-high, and gave up two runs on five hits in 5.2 innings pitched.
- Luke Carrell struck out two in a 1.1-inning relief appearance.
- The Buckeyes close out their series against the Bulldogs on Sunday, March 22 at 1 p.m.
