The Schedule Ahead
- The No. 25 Ohio State women's lacrosse team will host Rutgers in a Big Ten game at 6 p.m. Thursday in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.Â
- Admission and parking are free.Â
- The game will be televised by BTN, with the broadcast also on the Fox Sports app. Live statistics will be available on OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
- Ohio State is 6-2 on the year and coming off a 16-15 road win over then-No. 4 Northwestern Sunday. Rutgers is 5-4 and dropped a 15-12 game to No. 8 Johns Hopkins at home Sunday.
- Ohio State and Rutgers met in 2005 and 2006 as nonconference foes before the start of Big Ten Conference play in 2015.Â
- In Columbus, Ohio State leads the series, 5-2, while Rutgers is ahead 7-0 in Piscataway and 2-0 in neutral site contests.
- Last year, the Buckeyes fell to the Scarlet Knights, 12-8, on the road. The last game in Columbus as a 13-11 RU win April 18, 2024.
- Rutgers is 5-4 on the year, with wins over Delaware, Monmouth, Villanova, Hofstra and Temple and losses to Army, Princeton, Stony Brook and Johns Hopkins.Â
- Rutgers is scoring 13.78 goals a game and allowing 11.56 a contest. The Scarlet Knights are 11th in the NCAA in draw controls per game (16.56) and 18th in draw percentage (.613).
- Individually, Caroline Ling ranks 13th nationally in points per game (5.22) and is eighth in goals per game (3.78), while Lily Dixon is sixth in the NCAA in assists per game (3.33).
- For the second year in a row, Buckeye goalie Jocelyn Torres has been named to the watch list for the Tewaaraton Award.Â
- This year, she has started all eight games for the Buckeyes, with 61 saves (10.25 goals-against average, .452 save percentage).
- Torres has 60 collegiate games played (all starts), with a 10.48 gaa and .457 sv%. Â
- She matched her career best with 14 saves at Louisville Feb. 10 in a double overtime win and had 12 saves in the Buckeyes' win at Northwestern Sunday, tied for the fourth-most in her collegiate career.
- Kate Tyack and Jocelyn Torres were recognized with Big Ten weekly awards after leading the Buckeyes to a win at then-No. 4 Northwestern Sunday. Tyack was selected the B1G Offensive Player of the Week and Torres was named the B1G Defensive Player of the Week.
- Tyack had a career-high six goals on just six shots, with the six points one shy of her career best. Against the Wildcats, she had a first quarter hat trick which included the 100th point of her Buckeye career. She scored late in the second and in the third to help fuel Buckeye comebacks in the eventual 16-15 win. She was also named the league's offensive player of the week April 2, 2024.
- Torres had 12 saves in the victory, including nine in the second half, with six in the fourth quarter. Her final save came with 21 seconds left and preserved a one-goal lead. Torres and the Buckeyes limited Northwestern to just five goals in the second half, allowing Ohio State to come from behind twice in the eventual 16-15 win. She is now a two-time B1G Defensive Player of the Week selection.

- The Buckeyes entered the IWLCA rankings at No. 25 this week and are No. 24 in the IL Women poll.Â
- Ohio State is 10th in the NCAA in scoring offense, with 15.0 goals per game and 16 or more in each of the last four outings.
- The Buckeyes have held three of their last four opponents to four goals or less and are allowing 9.88 goals per game on the year.Â
- So far this season, the Buckeyes are averaging 28.75 shots on goal a game and holding opponents to 24.0 per outing. Ohio State is fifth nationally in shooting percentage (.522) and ranks 25th in shots on goal per game (22.38).
- The win at then-No. 4 Northwestern Sunday was the Buckeyes' first over a top 10 team since a 16-13 victory at No. 9 Penn State April 9, 2016, with Ohio State ranked 12th at the time. It was the first win over a team ranked in the top 5 since an unranked Ohio State squad beat No. 4 Northwestern in overtime 11-10 March 9, 2014.
Buckeye This and That
- Maddy Paz had a career-high seven points, with a hat trick and career-high tying four assists, at Northwestern Sunday. It was her second straight game with four assists and she has multiple points in each of the last seven games, with four points or more in each of the last four. Paz has 15 goals and a team-best 12 assists for 27 points through eight games this year, ranking third on the team in goals and points, after a six-goal season as a freshman last year.Â
- Junior Kate Tyack leads the Buckeyes with 23 goals and 34 points, ranking second with 11 assists, after a six-goal game vs. the Wildcats. She has multiple points in all eight games this season, with multiple assists in four games and multiple goals in six. Tyack now has 81 goals and 105 points in her Buckeye career. Â She is on 14-game goal and point streaks, with 35 goals and 48 points in the stretch. Tyack has three of the Buckeyes' six gamewinning goals this year.
- Senior transfer Camryn Callaghan is second on the squad with 22 goals and 31 points and is third with nine assists, ranking first with eight player-up scores. Â
- Callaghan had two goals and a helper at Northwestern to move her total to 217 career points (179g, 38a). She has a point in each of her last 23 games, with a 60-15-75 line in the stretch. Callaghan ranks sixth among current NCAA players in career goals and eighth in points. This year, she is tied for sixth nationally in free position goals per game (1.00).
- Callaghan leads the Buckeyes with 14 ground balls this season.Â
- Abby Boyle, who was first on the team with 50 draw controls last year, had a program-record 16 against Detroit Mercy Feb. 27. The program record had been 13, set three times prior, with the last March 10, 2022 by Chloe Johnson. Boyle now leads the Buckeyes with 47 draw controls and has five or more in each of the last six games.
- Kampbell Stone had two goals - including the gamewinner with less than two minutes left - vs. the Wildcats. She also had three draw controls, a ground ball and a caused turnover in the win. She shares the team lead with Lindsey McCulloch with eight caused turnovers and is third with 16 draw controls, ranking fourth with 10 ground balls.Â
- Annie Hargraves had two goals and an assist at Northwestern, marking her  16th career multiple-goal outing and her eighth game with three or more points. Â
- Senior Darrien Furiness, who has started all eight games after playing in nine games the last three years combined, is second on the team with 12 ground balls this year.
- Zoe Coleman had a goal and an assist at Northwestern and now has a 65-24-89 line in her Buckeye career.
- Hargraves, Torres and Stone were selected the Buckeyes' team captains for this season.
- Callaghan, Torres and Tyack were named to the Big Ten Players to Watch list entering the year.
