Buckeyes Down Musketeers, 8-4, in Extra Innings

Game Recap
- To lead off the first inning, Alex Bemis was hit by a pitch, followed by an infield bunt single from Henry Kaczmar. A sacrifice bunt from Noah Furcht advanced both runners and Bemis scored on an RBI groundout from Mason Eckelman to give the Buckeyes the early 1-0 lead.
- With one out in the top of the second, Steven Cavaco singled to right center. CJ Reid and Miles Vandenheuvel drew back-to-back walks to load the bases. Back-to-back singles from Bemis and Kaczmar sent two runs home to extend the Ohio State lead, 3-0.
- In the bottom of the second, Xavier evened the score, 3-3, after two RBI singles and an RBI groundout.
- Xavier took the lead, 4-3, in the bottom of the fifth inning following an RBI single.
- The sixth inning led off with a walk for Dane Harvey. With one out, Cavaco reached on a fielding error and Harvey advanced to third. Cavaco swiped second to put two runners in scoring position. With two outs, Reid walked to load the bases. Bemis was then hit by a pitch to send Harvey home and tie the score, 4-4.
- Furcht and Eckelman walked to lead off the top of the seventh. Harvey reached on a fielder's choice and Maddix Simspn walked to load the bases, but all three runners were stranded.
- In the bottom of the seventh with one out and one runner on, Kaczmar turned an unassisted double play to keep the score tied.
- The score remained tied, 4-4, at the end of nine innings to send the game into extras.
- Simpson and Cavaco were both hit by pitches to lead off the ninth inning. With one out, Reid singled through the right side to send the go-ahead run home. A single from Kaczmar sent Cavaco home and a two-RBI single from Furcht added some insurance runs, putting the Buckeyes ahead, 8-4.
- Jake Michalak struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth, catching all three Musketeers looking, to secure the 8-4 victory for the Buckeyes.
- Kaczmar led the Buckeyes with three hits.
- Bemis, Furcht and Kaczmar shared the team lead in RBIs with two each.
- Michalak earned the win on the mound, improving his record to 3-0. He fanned four in 3.0 scoreless, hitless innings.
- The Buckeyes host Butler for a three-game series March 20-22.
