COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 16 Buckeyes (10-9, 4-5) will face No. 8 Loyola Chicago (13-5, 7-2) at 7 p.m. Thursday. Ohio State then welcomes No. 14 Lewis (13-8, 5-4) at 3 p.m. Saturday. Both matches will be held at the Covelli Center and will be streamed on B1G+. Â

Ohio State is set for a rematch against Loyola Chicago ranked No. 2 in the MIVA conference, and Lewis ranked No. 5. The Buckeyes dropped their last matchups against both teams earlier this season. Â

Ohio State will travel to Pittsburgh for a Big Ten matchup against Penn State in a neutral site game at 6 p.m. March 25. The game will be held at Fitzgerald Field House on Pitt's campus. Â

Shane Wetzel put up 18 kills in two matches last week, adding to his career total of 1,206 kills. Wetzel is ranked 12th in career kills all-time.  Â

Daniel Hurley finished with 18 kills, three service aces and seven digs across two matches for the Buckeyes last week at Ball State and Purdue Fort Wayne. Â

Stanislaw Chacinski added 23 kills in two games and now sits at 521 career kills, surpassing a career milestone of 500 total kills. Â

The Buckeyes hit a collective .509 in their most recent match at No. 19 Purdue Fort Wayne, with every attacker hitting above .440.Â

Following a team vote, Wetzel and Drew Hudson were named captains for the 2026 season. Hudson is the first sophomore to earn captain honors in the history of the program.  Â

Wetzel and Chacinski both were recognized as 2025 AVCA Honorable Mention All-Americans after earning 2025 postseason Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association honors. In addition, the MIVA coaches voted Ohio State in the No. 2 position in the league 2026 preseason poll.  Â

In his seventh season, Kevin Burch achieved his 100th win as Ohio State's head coach (106-71) with the victory against Lincoln Memorial (3-0). Securing the win against the Railsplitters gave Burch win No. 100 to go with one regular-season MIVA title, a pair of league tournament championships and two NCAA Tournament appearances.  Â
