HOUSTON, Texas – The Ohio State baseball team (5-5) fell to No. 3 Texas (11-0), 10-3, in its final game of the BRUCE BOLT College Classic at Daikin Park on Sunday.

- The Buckeyes retired the Longhorns in order in the first and second innings.
- Noah Furcht walked to lead off the bottom of the second, followed by a single up the middle from Henry Kaczmar, but both runners were stranded.
- Texas scored seven runs in the top of the third inning off of two RBI singles, an RBI groundout, an RBI double and a two-run home run.
- With one out in the bottom of the fifth, Grant Mangrum was hit by a pitch to get on base. CJ Reid then doubled to right field. Mangrum scored on a wild pitch to put the Buckeyes on the board, but the Longhorns had a six-run lead, 7-1.
- Furcht led off with a solo home run, his second of the weekend, in the bottom of the sixth to cut the Texas lead to five, 7-2.
- An RBI Fielder's choice and an RBI single for the Longhorns in the top of the seventh put their lead back at seven runs, 9-2.
- With two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Miles Vandenheuvel reached base after being hit by a pitch. Lee Ellis was up next, and he sent a ball deep to the center field wall that earned him three bases and sent Vandenheuvel home to put a third run on the board for the Buckeyes.
- Texas added a run in the top of the eighth on a sacrifice fly to take back a seven-run lead, 10-3.
- With one out in the bottom of the ninth, pinch hitter Dane Harvey singled through the right side. With two outs, Ellis singled to left field and Mason Eckelman was hit by a pitch to load the bases, but all three runners were left on base as Texas came away with the 10-3 win.
- Ellis led the Buckeyes with two hits.
- Pierce Herrenbruck (1-1) took the loss. He gave up six runs on four hits in 2.1 innings pitched.
- Owen Graf, Ryan Zamora and Jake Michalak each struck out two in appearances out of the bullpen.
- The Buckeyes open their home schedule at Bill Davis Stadium on Tuesday, March 3 at 3 p.m. against Xavier.
