
Buckeyes Begin Campaign at Home vs. Pitt

Teams will meet Saturday inside Woody Hayes Athletic Center
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- The Ohio State women's lacrosse team kicks off the 2026 season with a home game against Pitt at noon Saturday. The teams will meet inside Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Admission and parking are free, with seating limited because of space constraints. The game will be streamed by B1G+ and live statistics will be available.

- Ohio State and Pitt have never met on the lacrosse field. The Panthers' first season as a Division I program was in 2022.
- Graduate student Annie Hargraves, senior Jocelyn Torres and junior Kampbell Stone were selected as the Buckeyes' team captains for this season.
- The Buckeyes return five of their top seven leading scorers from last season. Kate Tyack was second on the squad with 39 points, ranking first with 34 goals. Zoe Coleman ranked second with 26 goals and was fourth with 28 points, followed by Stone with 24 goals and points.Â
- Torres started all 15 games in the cage for the Buckeye last season, with a 9.49 goals against average and .496 save percentage. Â
- Abby Boyle led Ohio State with 50 draw controls last year and is back for her sophomore campaign. Torres had a team-high 29 ground balls, with Stone tied for third with 20. Senior Katie Kaucheck was second for the Buckeyes a season ago with 16 caused turnovers.Â
- The Buckeyes will appear on Big Ten Network four times this season, including home matchups against Rutgers (March 19), Oregon (March 26) and Maryland (April 18) and a road contest at Michigan (April 4).Â
- Seniors Camryn Callaghan and Jocelyn Torres and junior Kate Tyack were among the 27 players named to the Big Ten Players to Watch list.
- Callaghan, who plays attack and is from Upper Arlington, Ohio, is in her first year as a Buckeye after three seasons at Cincinnati, where she scored 157 goals, 29 assists and 186 points in 52 games. In 2025 she had 54 points, including 45 goals, while starting all 17 games. She was the AAC Freshman of the Year in 2023 and a two-time First Team All-AAC honoree. Callaghan was a two-time captain for the Bearcats and earned All-Academic AAC accolades.
- Tyack, a native of Dublin, Ohio, plays attack for the Buckeyes. She saw action in 32 games, starting 24, over her first two seasons, with 58 goals and 12 assists for 70 points. In 2025, Tyack started all 15 games and had a team-high 34 goals, ranking second with 39 points. She has earned Ohio State Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Big Ten honors.
- Â A goalie from Glenwood, Md., and captain for the Buckeyes this season, Torres has started 52 games over the last three campaigns, with a 10.52 goals-against average and .558 save percentage. After two years at Virginia Tech, Torres started all 15 games for the Buckeyes in 2025, ranking sixth in the NCAA in save percentage (.496) and ranking 12th nationally in goals-against average (9.49). She is an IWLCA Academic Honor Roll and Ohio State Scholar-Athlete selection.
- Three straight road games are up next for the Buckeyes, with trips to Louisville (Feb. 10), Cincinnati (Feb. 16) and defending NCAA champion North Carolina (Feb. 20).
- Ohio State will then return home for a three-game homestand, welcoming Detroit Mercy (Feb. 27), Robert Morris (March 1) and Vanderbilt (March 7).Â
- Admission and parking are free for all Ohio State regular season home games in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.
