HOUSTON, Texas – The Ohio State baseball team (5-4) was shut out by No. 25 Ole Miss (10-1), 8-0, in the Buckeyes' second game of the BRUCE BOLT College Classic at Daikin Park on Saturday.

Game Recap

With one out in the bottom of the first inning, Lee Ellis and Mason Eckelman hit back-to-back singles and each advanced on a fly out from Noah Furcht, but they were stranded.
Solo home runs from the Rebels in the top of the third and fourth inning gave them a 2-0 lead over the Buckeyes.
In the bottom of the fourth, with one out, Furcht doubled to left field and Henry Kaczmar walked to put two runners on, but the Buckeyes were not able to capitalize.
Another solo homer for the Rebels in the top of the fifth inning extended their lead, 3-0.
In the bottom of the sixth, Furcht hit a two-out double but he was left on base.
Steven Cavaco singled to left field to lead off the bottom of the fifth inning. He advanced to second and then third on two wild pitches, but the Rebels got the third out.
In the top of the eighth, a bases-loaded walk and a grand slam for the Rebels gave them an 8-0 lead over the Buckeyes.
In the bottom of the ninth, Furcht led of with a single and advanced to second on a groundout from Cavaco, but he was left on base as the Buckeyes fell to the Rebels, 8-0.

Furcht led the Buckeyes with three hits, two of which were doubles.
Chris Domke (1-2) took the loss on the mound. He fanned six and gave up three runs on four hits in 5.0 innings pitched.
