
No. 9 Ohio State Improves to 5-0 in 13-5 Win Over High Point

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 9 Ohio State men’s lacrosse team earned its third fourth win on home turf and its fifth of the season Saturday with a 13-5 victory over High Point at Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.
The Short Story
In the first meeting between the programs, Ohio State started the game with a seven-goal scoring run and never looked back. The Buckeyes outscored the Panthers in the first three quarters, held them to a season-low six goals and won the ground ball battle, 31-25, to come away with the win.
Garrett Haas recorded a team and career-high six points and five goals to lead Ohio State in scoring against High Point. Liam White (4) and Khalif Hocker (2) also finished with multi-goal games. Eight players tallied a point Saturday.
Dominic Shaw caused four turnovers on the day, a career-high single game mark and the most in a game for the Buckeyes this season. Caleb Fyock made nine saves in the game to improve to 5-0 on the year in goal for the Buckeyes.

How it Happened
- The Buckeyes set the tone early in the game, forcing High Point to take late clock shots and forced a couple of shot clock violations. Ohio State jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first quarter with Garrett Haas scoring the first and fourth goals of the frame and Khalif Hocker and Liam White adding a pair of goals in between.
- Ohio State extended its scoring run to seven goals with three in the first five minutes of the second quarter. White found the back of the net just 39 seconds into the quarter and Hocker and Haas scored on both man-up opportunities of the half.
- High Point got on the board at 8:35 before White and Haas recorded their third and fourth goals of the game, respectively, to put Ohio State ahead, 9-1, at the half.
- Caleb Fyock made four saves in the first half for the Buckeyes while the defense held the Panthers to nine shots in the half. Five of High Point’s 12 turnovers in the first half were from shot clock violations and another three were caused by the Buckeyes.
- The Panthers were first to score in the second half, but another three-goal scoring run by the Buckeyes extended the Ohio State lead to 10 goals after the third quarter. Marinier scored his first goal of the game in the frame with Haas and White scoring their final goals of the day.
- High Point outscored the Buckeyes, 3-1, in the fourth quarter. Jack Bichelmeyer scored his second goal of the season for the Buckeyes’ 13th and final goal.
Game Notes
- Ohio State head coach Nick Myers recorded his 150th career win Saturday against High Point. Myers is in his 18th season as head coach of the Buckeyes and now has a 150-110 record.
- The Buckeyes’ conference-leading man-up offense scored on both its opportunities against the Panthers.
- Liam White scored a career-high four goals in the game. He now has nine goals on the year.
