Callaghan scores six goals, Tyack posts seven points
COLUMBUS, Ohio – A combined 13 points from the duo of Camryn Callaghan and Kate Tyack led the Ohio State women's lacrosse team to a 19-8 victory over Cincinnati Monday afternoon in Nippert Stadium in Cincinnati. The Buckeyes (2-1) led 9-5 at halftime and 12-7 through three quarters, outscoring UC 7-1 in the fourth quarter for the 19-8 win.

Callaghan had six goals vs. the Bearcats (2-2), while Tyack had two goals and five assists for seven points. Callaghan reached the 200 career point mark with her fifth goal on the day.

The Short Story
The Buckeyes scored four of the game's first five goals and led 4-2 after 15 minutes. Camryn Callaghan scored twice in the first 2:48 of the second quarter to complete a hat trick and put the Buckeyes up 6-2. The teams traded goals the rest of the half for a 9-5 Buckeye lead at the break. Goals from Zoe Coleman and Maddy Paz stretched Ohio State's lead to 11-5 at 7:29 of the third quarter. UC scored two of the three final goals in the quarter for a 12-7 game. It was all Buckeyes in the fourth, as they opened the quarter on a four-goal run, including two goals from Callaghan. After a UC score, the Buckeyes tallied three times in the final 3:16 to close out the game and win 19-8.

- Ohio State takes on No. 1 ranked North Carolina at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Chapel Hill, N.C.
- The Buckeyes will then return home for a three-game homestand, welcoming Detroit Mercy (Feb. 27), Robert Morris (March 1) and Vanderbilt (March 7).Â

- In the third, Zoe Coleman opened the scoring at 11:03, picking up the ground ball off a rebound. Paz followed with her second of the day at 7:29, beating her defender to get to the front of the cage and score.
- The quarter closed with two Cincinnati goals surrounding a tally from Buckeye Brooke Vinson in the final 3:18. Ohio State led 12-7 through 45 minutes.
- Ohio State notched the first four goals of the fourth quarter.
- Tyack found Callaghan in front at 13:43. At 12:24, Annie Hargraves got her own rebound in the air off a free position shot and put it past the goalie for a 14-7 Ohio State lead.
- Coleman's second of the day came at 9:40 and Tyack and Callaghan again connected, again with the Buckeyes player up, at 7:54.
- A UC goal stopped Ohio State's run for a 16-8 game with 3:37 remaining.
