Buckeyes Tied for Third After First Day of Spartan Sun Coast

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's golf team is tied for 3rd place after the first two rounds of the Spartan Suncoast Invitational on Sunday at Palm Aire Country Club in Sarasota, Florida. Â

The Buckeyes had themselves a day on the course, shooting a 305 (+17) in the round one, and a 302 (+14) in the second round to conclude day one of the tournament. Â
Sophie Eppelstun fired a two-under 70 in the first round of the tournament, highlighted by 3 birdies. She shot a 77 (+5) in the second round to put her in third place individually. Â
Mandy Song, competing as an individual, currently sits in eleventh place. She carded a 74 (+2) in the first round and followed it up with a 75 (+3) in round two. Â

Kary Hollenbaugh fired off a 75 (+3) in each round of today's play, putting her in fifteenth place. Â
Nellie Ong sits in twenty-fourth place to conclude the first two rounds of the tournament, recording a 78 (+6) in round one and a 74 (+2) in round two. Â
Matilde Santilli finished the day in fiftieth place, having carded a round one score of 82 (+10) and a round two score of 76 (+4). Â

Marina Joyce-Moreno also started the day with an 82 (+10) and finished round two with a score of 78 (+6). She is currently in fifty-ninth place. Â

The final round of the Spartan Suncoast Invitational gets underway with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start on Monday, Feb. 16.Â
