
Buckeyes Conclude Season in 27th at NCAA Championship

CARLSBAD, Calif. – The Ohio State women's golf team concluded its season with a 27th-place finish at the NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, California. Ohio State posted a team score of 301 in its third and final round of tournament play.Â
Freshman Sophie Eppelstun proved herself throughout the weekend, carding a 73 (+1) in all three rounds. She recorded two birdies in each round of play. Sophomore Nellie Ong followed with a 74 (+2), also tallying two birdies in the final round. Sophomore Mandy Song was next in the Buckeyes' scoring lineup, contributing a 76 (+4) in round three. Freshman Matilde Santilli rounded out the team scoring with a 78 (+6), while sophomore Marina Joyce Moreno finished the day with a 79 (+7).Â
The Buckeyes conclude another great season that ended with a second consecutive trip to the NCAA Championship. The team had a pair of wins and six Top 5 finishes. Three sophomores and two freshmen grew their games and gained valuable experience, finishing runner-up at the NCAA Ann Arbor Regional. This season was also the culmination of a record-setting career for senior Kary Hollenbaugh. The All-American and Curtis Cup selection had five career wins and recorded 25 Top 20 finishes in 42 events. Â
