COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State will look to continue its solid start next week on one of the nation’s most patriotic and competitive stages at the Folds of Honor Collegiate. The three-day, 54-hole event brings together some of the top collegiate programs in the country. Golf Channel will have live coverage from 9:30-12:30 p.m. and 4:30-7:30 p.m. all three days.
- The Buckeyes lineup will include Matilde Santilli, Sophie Eppelstun, Mandy Song, , Nellie Ong and Marina Joyce-Moreno.
- The Buckeyes are coming off a win at the season-opening Roseann Schqartz Invitational last Monday in Hermitage, Pa.
- Santilli opened with a bogey-free 65 (-5) on Monday en route to winning the event at 2-under par. It was her first collegiate victory. The 65 was the lowest round of her career and tied for the fifth-lowest in program history.
- Eppelstun carded a 2-under 68 in the final round on Monday to finish runner-up to Santilli at 1-under par. That was her best collegiate finish and also was the lowest round of her young career.
- Mandy Song posted rounds of 74-73 at the season-opening event and finished tied for 7th.
- Last year at the Folds of Honor Collegiate, the Buckeyes finished in ninth place, paced by a seventh-place finish from senior Kary Hollenbaugh.
- The Buckeyes will carry a bag at each event this season in honor of Ohio native and Chief Master Sergeant Kenneth C. Adams as part of the Folds of Honor program. This week, Matilde Santilli will carry the FOH bag. Read more on CMSgt Adams and the Folds of Honor program.
