Buckeyes In a Nutshell
- Ohio State goes on the road after a 3-0 start to the home schedule. Already this week, the Buckeyes picked up an 11-6 win over Bellarmine at Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. Freshman attacker Khalif Hocker scored his first career hat trick and tied with Garrett Haas with a team-high four points on the day.
- The Buckeyes pace the Big Ten Conference in caused turnovers per game (12.67), face-off win percentage (.733), ground balls per game (44.33), man-up offense (.625) and scoring defense (5.33).
- Ohio State is averaging 15.67 goals per game in the third week of the season with a 10.33 scoring margin.
- Haas has recorded a team-high 12 points on the year with four points in each game so far for the Buckeyes. The junior attacker has recorded a point in every game he has played the last two seasons. His 4.00 points per game this season rank top 10 in the conference.
- Ohio State's faceoff unit is third nationally through three games. Junior Jack Oldman leads the team with a .756 win percentage. He is 31-for-41 on the year. Freshman Matt Mayfield is 18-for-26 with a .692 win percentage. Oldman has a team-high 23 ground balls and is first in the conference with 7.67 ground balls per game.
- The Buckeyes' top 10 man-up offense is led by Alex Marinier with four of his 10 goals this season scored on the player advantage. His four man-up goals lead the country.
- Caleb Fyock is 3-0 this season in net for Ohio State. The junior from Bowie, Md. has a .559 save percentage, 6.33 saves per game an a 5.84 goals against average.
- The Tewaaraton Foundation announced the watch list for the 2026 Tewaaraton Award Tuesday with Fyock, Cullen Brown and Bobby Van Buren named to the list for the Buckeyes.
- Ohio State is 10th in week one of the USILA poll. Seven of the team's remaining nine opponents are ranked in the top 20. Air Force is receiving votes in the poll.
- Head coach Nick Myers is in his 18th season leading the Scarlet and Gray. In his Ohio State career, he has led the team to a 148-110 record. He is assisted by associate head coach Travis Crane and assistant coaches James Purpura and Justin Tuma.
- Ohio State is 22-12 in the all-time series against Air Force that started in 1967.
- Saturday's matchup is the fourth in as many seasons between the teams as non-conference opponents. The teams were previous members of the ECAC and GWLL conferences.
- The Buckeyes have won eight of the last nine meetings against the Falcons. Last season, Ohio State earned a 17-11 victory in the meeting between the teams in Columbus. In its last trip to Colorado Springs, the Buckeyes won, 12-4.
