Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- Ohio State's 2026 roster features 14 returners and seven newcomers, including five freshmen and two transfers.
- Vault, bars and floor specialist Kaitlin Grimes and all-arounder Tory Vetter are the most veteran members of the 2026 team, both entering their fifth season as Buckeyes.
- The team also returns all its leading scorers on each event from 2025. Tory Vetter recorded the team's best scores on every event last season, recording a season-best 9.900 on vault and beam and career-highs of 9.925 on bars and 9.950 on floor. JJ Coleman and Cameron Smith also scored 9.900s in their freshmen seasons on vault. On beam, Courtney McCann, whose career-high 9.975 is tied for the program record, also recorded a season-best 9.900.
- Coleman and Vetter were named Big Ten Gymnasts to Watch for the 2026 season. Vetter, who is set to begin her fifth season as a Buckeye, is a two-time First Team All-Big Ten honoree and Big Ten All-Championships Team member. Coleman competed in seven meets in 2025 and has career-high marks of 9.900 on vault, 9.850 on beam and 9.925 on floor.
- The Buckeyes were voted fifth in the Big Ten preseason coaches' poll.
- Vetter and senior Payton Harris are both tied for the program record in the all-around with a 39.625. Harris earned the score in 2023 and Vetter in 2024.
- Ohio State is led by ninth-year head coach Meredith Paulicivic. Paulicivic has earned an 84-57 record in her time at Ohio State. She is assisted by associate head coach Randy Monahan and assistant coaches Mickayla Stuckey and Makayla Curtis.
- Saturday's meet against Georgia is the 11th meeting all time between the teams. The last time the teams met was the 2019 season opener and the last time Georgia came to Columbus for a regular season meet was 2007. The Buckeyes have two wins in the series.Â
