No. 13 Ohio State Rolls to 3-0 Win over Railsplitters

The Buckeyes next travel to face No. 1 UCLA, No. 4 USC next weekend
The win (25-17, 25-16, 28-26) gave Kevin Burch his 100th win as head coach of the Buckeyes.
Against the Railsplitters, Ohio State was led by Shane Wetzel in kills with 12. Stanislaw Chacinski added 10.
Daniel Henwood Rodriguez recorded 32 assists to lead both teams. He also led the squads with eight digs.
Middle Eliel Salva-Torres transferred to Ohio State from LMU after last season. He finished with nine kills and five blocks against his former squad.
The teams were originally scheduled to play again Saturday but the match was canceled because of inclement weather in the forecast.

Set 1 (OSU, 25-17)
The Buckeyes started the match with an electric 3-0 run. A triple block from Daniel Henwood Rodriguez, Eliel Salva-Torres and Stanislaw Chacinski gave Ohio State a 5-1 lead. A kill by Owen Pickering kept the Buckeyes on top with an 11-7 lead. Shane Wetzel's kill forced the Railsplitters' first timeout at 13-8 Buckeyes. Salva-Torres Ohio State a six-point lead with a kill, 19-14. An overpass kill by Pickering forced Lincoln Memorial's second timeout of the set at 21-15 Buckeyes. Ohio State won the set with another kill by Wetzel for the 25-17 win.

Set 2 (OSU, 25-16)
A kill by Pickering gave the Buckeyes a 2-1 lead over the Railsplitters to start the second set. Chacinski's kill kept the Ohio State lead at 5-3. Back-to-back points by the Buckeyes were earned on a Henwood Rodriguez service ace and a Chacinski kill from the 10-foot line to make it 8-3. A backrow kill by Pickering lengthened the Ohio State lead to 12-4. Consecutive kills by Salva-Torres and Wetzel pushed the Buckeyes ahead 17-6. Brady Jones' kill increased the Ohio State lead to 22-10. The Buckeyes won set two on a block by Salva-Torres, 25-16.

Set 3 (28-26)
The Buckeyes began the third set with a shut-down block by Salva-Torres and Wetzel, 1-0. A great dig by Drew Hudson gave Pickering the perfect set up for a kill, 3-2. The Railsplitters gained a small 6-3 lead after a couple of kills. A kill by Jones started to close the gap for the Buckeyes, 8-6 LMU. A Salva-Torres kill kept the set close with the Railsplitters up 12-9. An unsuccessful Lincoln Memorial challenge kept the Buckeyes within 1 point, 12-11 LMU. Another block by Chacinski and Salva-Torres sparked a fire, with a yellow card given to each team, 15-13 Railsplitters. An overpass kill by Tyler Tharpe tied the set at 17 all. Another kill by Chacinski kept the game even at 23 all. A service error by the Railsplitters pushed the set to extra points, 24 all. Another Wetzel kill gave the Buckeyes their first match point, 26-25. Salva-Torres' kill gave Ohio State their second match point, 27-26. The Buckeyes won it 28-26.
