COLUMBUS, Ohio – Junior Kary Hollenbaugh led the No. 13 Ohio State women's golf team through the first round of the NCAA Championships at Omni La Costa in Carlsbad, Calif. on Friday.
Hollenbaugh fired a one-under 71 in the first round and she is tied for 17th place. She birdied three holes on Friday.
Marina Joyce-Moreno carded a 73 (+1) and is tied for 46th place. She was two-under on par 3s, which was tied for the best among the field of 156 players. She birdied three holes in the first round.
Mandy Song shot 75 (+3) on Friday and is tied for 78th place. She had two birdies.
Faith Choi is tied for 98th place after carding a 76 (+4) in round one and Nellie Ong shot 82 (+10) and is tied for 150th place. Both picked up one birdie on Friday.
The Buckeyes are in a four-way tie with Georgia Southern, UCLA and Florida State for 16th place. Ohio State shot a team score of 295 (+7) in round one. The Buckeyes shot even on par 3s, which was tied for third-best among the 30-team field.
