Ohio State faces off against Penn State Saturday
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 10-ranked Ohio State women's tennis team returns home for a Saturday matchup against Penn State at noon in Columbus, Ohio. The match is scheduled to be played outside at the Auer Tennis Center. In the event of inclement weather, the match will be moved inside the Ty Tucker Tennis Center. Admission and parking are free for all regular season home matches.

Ohio State currently holds a 15-2 record after it prevailed over Northwestern and Illinois on the road last weekend. The Buckeyes carry a 9-1 Big Ten ledger on the season. Penn State is 13-7 overall this spring after losing to Northwestern and Illinois last weekend, with a 4-6 B1G mark.

- The Buckeyes are No. 10 in the ITA team rankings released this week.
- Five Buckeyes are in the singles rankings: No. 9 Luciana Perry, No. 29 Teah Chavez (a career high), No. 88 Sydni Ratliff, No. 94 Audrey Spencer and No. 120 Shelly Bereznyak.
- In doubles, the duo of Perry and Chavez is No. 16.
- Ohio State is one of six Big Ten teams ranked in the Top 25, joined by No. 5 Michigan, No. 16 Southern California, No. 17 Washington, No. 22 UCLA and No. 25 Wisconsin.
- Ohio State has won the last 14 matches against Penn State and the Buckeyes' overall record is 38-14 against the Nittany Lions, with the first match occurring in 1974.
- The Buckeyes faced off against the Nittany Lions twice last season. They first posted a  shut out on the road, 7-0, followed by a 4-1 win in the Big Ten quarterfinals.
- Penn State is 13-7 this spring and holds a 4-6 Big Ten record after getting shut out, 4-0, by Northwestern and Illinois this past weekend.

- The match Saturday opens a four-match homestand for the Buckeyes to close the regular season. Ohio State is 7-0 at home this spring.
- Ohio State succeeded in road matches against Northwestern and Illinois last weekend. The Buckeyes downed Northwestern 4-0 followed by a 4-1 victory over Illinois.
- The Buckeyes are now 9-1 in Big Ten matches. The team shut out Indiana, Purdue, Michigan State, Rutgers and Northwestern and downed Maryland and Illinois 4-1, with its only loss to Michigan.
- The Wolverines are in first place in the Big Ten with a 10-0 mark. Ohio State (9-1) and Washington (8-1) follow with one loss each, with Wisconsin next at 7-2.
- Perry has the most overall singles wins for the Buckeyes with 26, followed by Teah Chavez and Shelly Bereznyak with 22 each. In dual play, Perry is 12-3, Bereznyak is 11-2, Nao Nishino is 9-2 and Chavez is undefeated at 9-0.
- The duo of Chavez and Perry is 11-4 in doubles matches this spring to lead Ohio State. The tandem of Spencer and Nishino is 9-2.Â
- The Buckeyes are currently undefeated on courts two (13-0) and five (10-0) in singles through their first 17 dual matches.
- Ohio State has won the doubles point in 13 of 17 matches.
- The Buckeyes will remain at home for a non-conference match against No. 5 Michigan at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
- The regular season wraps up with two more home matches next weekend. They are set to play No. 25 Wisconsin at noon April 19 and Minnesota at 11 a.m. April 20 on Senior Day.
- All home matches will be slated to play outside at the Auer Tennis Center. In the case of inclement weather, the match will be moved inside the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
