COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 10-ranked Ohio State women's tennis team added to its Big Ten victories with a 7-0 shutout against Penn State outside at the Auer Tennis Complex in Columbus, Ohio, Saturday. The Buckeyes are now 16-2 on the year, with a 10-1 Big Ten record. The Nittany Lions are 13-8 overall and 4-7 in the Big Ten Conference.    Â

The Ohio State tandem of Dani Schoenly and Audrey Spencer opened doubles with a win, but the Nittany Lions responded, leaving the doubles point up to court one. With the score five-all, the Buckeyes' No. 16-ranked duo of Teah Chavez and Luciana Perry broke and then served it out for the match and 1-0 team lead.

The Buckeyes won five of the first six singles sets. Alessia Cau, Perry and Sydni Ratliff closed out straight set wins to clinch the team victory. The match wrapped up with wins from Chavez, Spencer and Shelly Bereznyak (in a super tiebreaker) for the 7-0 final.

- Ohio State clinched the win after No. 88 Sydni Ratliff prevailed on court three, 6-3, 6-3.
- Soon after, No. 29 Chavez secured a point on court two with a 6-3, 6-4 victory and No. 94 Spencer completed her match on court five 6-4, 6-4 to move Ohio State to a 6-0 lead.
- The match ended with a super tiebreaker between No. 120 Shelly Bereznyak and Jordina Cegarra on court four. After Cegarra claimed the first set and Bereznyak won the second, Bereznyak secured the team's shutout with a 10-3 tiebreaker win.
- The Buckeyes will play a non-conference match against No. 5 Michigan at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
- The final weekend of regular season play includes B1G home matches against No. 25 Wisconsin at noon Saturday and Minnesota at 11 a.m. April 20. The Buckeye seniors will be recognized prior to the match vs. the Gophers.
- All home matches are slated to be played outside at the Auer Tennis Center. In the case of inclement weather, the match will be moved inside the Ty Tucker Tennis Center.
