Buckeyes face Pitt on Wednesday and then have a three-game series at Penn State
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 10th week of Ohio State's season takes them to the state of Pennsylvania, as the Buckeyes head to Pittsburgh for a midweek game with the Pitt Panthers and then a three-game series this weekend at Penn State.

Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- The Buckeyes enter this week with a 30-9-1 overall record and 6-4 mark in the Big Ten. Exactly half of their wins – 15 – have come via the run-rule.
- The Buckeyes are No. 22 in this week's NFCA poll, No. 24 in the ESPN.com/USA Softball poll, No. 20 in the Softball America poll and No. 23 in the D1Softball poll.
- Ohio State is hitting .352 as a team and leads the Big Ten in doubles, home runs, RBIs, slugging percentage, total runs, and walks.
- The trip to California brought Ohio State's season home run total to 94, good for most in the nation. It has 18 more home runs than any other team in the country.
- Each everyday Buckeye is batting .310 or higher, with the top four batting averages exceeding .375. Eight of those nine everyday players have at least eight home runs, and five have 10 or more.
- Sophomore Jasmyn Burns continues to lead the super-charged offense, batting a hefty .482 that places her third among Big Ten hitters. Her 17 home runs lead both the Ohio State roster and the conference. She leads the Big Ten in slugging (1.070) and total bases (122). Her 55 RBI this year has her just eight shy of 100 in her young career.
- The games this week continue a eight-game road trip for the scarlet and gray. Following this weekend, Ohio State plays a midweek game at Dayton next Wednesday before returning to Buckeye Field the weekend of April 18-20 to host Michigan.
Headed Home
- The trip will be a homecoming for Bethel Park, Pa. native Reagan Milliken and Sami Bewick, who is from McMurry, Pa.
- Bethel Park and McMurray are both less than an hour south of Pittsburgh and three hours west of State College, Pa.
- Bewick hit .429 last weekend while in California and entered the series finale with UCLA having scored at least one run in 14 consecutive games.
- Milliken's 55 RBIs are tied for a team best and are tied for third-best in the Big Ten. She and Hadley Parisien are tied for fourth-most home runs in the Big Ten (13).
Scouting the Competition
- Pitt is 13-23 on the year with a 3-12 record in the ACC. They will enter Wednesday's game coming off a 5-1 conference victory over Notre Dame.
- Sophomore Ahmari Braden leads the Panther offense with a batting average of .333 and a slugging percentage of .495. Teammate Kaitlyn Branstorm is tops on the team in both home runs (four) and RBI (23).
- The Pitt pitching staff is led by senior Kyra Pittman, who has logged 111.2 innings this season with a 3.82 ERA and 43 strikeouts.
- Penn State (18-18, 5-5 Big Ten) enters the week on a four-game winning streak, just having swept Rutgers at home last weekend while breaking its single-season home run record in the process.
- The series opener on Friday evening will mark the 50th matchup between Ohio State and Penn State, a series that the Buckeyes lead 34-15. Ohio State has won seven of the last eight games between the two teams dating back to 2021.
- The Nittany Lions hold a conference record of 5-5 with wins over Rutgers (three), Indiana, and Minnesota. They are undefeated at home and boast a team batting average of .344.
- Sophomore Brooke Klosowicz leads the pack with a batting average of .480 that is fourth-best in the Big Ten.
