Ohio State returns home to host Johns Hopkins Thursday
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's lacrosse fell in overtime at Penn State, 12-11, Sunday in University Park, Pa. Ohio State is now 8-4 on the year (1-4 B1G), with the Nittany Lions 6-7 overall and 4-2 in the league.

The game was tied nine times and neither team was able to extend beyond a two-goal lead in the contest. The teams were tied at four after the first quarter and Penn State led 7-5 at the half. Ohio State outscored Penn State 5-2 in the third quarter to take a 10-9 lead. The Nittany Lions notched the first two goals of the fourth for an 11-10 advantage but Buckeye Kate Tyack responded 42 seconds later to again tie the game. An Ohio State shot was saved to start overtime and the Nittany Lions notched the gamewinner on the following possession.

For the Buckeyes, Tyack had four goals and five points in the game and Zoe Coleman had a four-goal outing. Brynn Ammerman picked up two assists and Annie Hargraves and Makena Harrington each had two points with a goal and an assist. Jocelyn Torres made nine saves, with Abby Boyle recording five draw controls.

- Ammerman set up Tyack 47 seconds into the stanza and Leah Sax tied the game at 7-all at 13:30.
- After a PSU goal from Kelly at 12:08, Ohio State went on a three-goal run to take its first two-goal lead of the game. Maddie Barhorst found Coleman in front at 10:55 to tie the game, Tyack set up Annie Hargraves at 8:00 and Hargraves then found a cutting Coleman for a score at 4:21.
- Penn State notched the final goal of the third quarter at 3:31 and tallied the first two goals of the fourth – at 13:09 and 4:43 – to take an 11-10 lead.
- Just 42 seconds after Penn State had pushed ahead, Tyack came around the cage and scored on a low shot to deadlock the game at 11-all.
- A Jocelyn Torres save with 55 seconds remaining in regulation gave the Buckeyes the ball, but Ohio State, which was player up, was unable to get the equalizer.
- In overtime, the Buckeyes had the ball to start on the carryover card, with Penn State's goalie making a save. On the ensuing possession, Payton Wainman shot's as she was falling gave Penn State the 12-11 victory.
- Ohio State outshot Penn State, 35-25, in the game. Torres made nine saves for the Buckeyes and the Penn State goalie made 12 stops.
- Ohio State had a commanding 17-9 edge in draw controls and each team picked up 23 ground balls.
- Abby Boyle had five draw controls for Ohio State and Emily Magalotti recorded four. Ammerman had a team-best four ground balls, with Maeve Simonds and Hargraves each posting three.
