
Three Buckeyes Land on All-Big Ten Teams

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Three Ohio State women's golfers earned All-Big Ten honors, announced by the conference on Monday. Kary Hollenbaugh was selected to the All-Big Ten First Team and Faith Choi and Nellie Ong were both named to the All-Big Ten Second Team.
This is the second straight season Hollenbaugh has earned First Team All-Big Ten honors. She has had a phenomenal spring season, tying the program record for single season wins with four. Hollenbaugh claimed the titles at the Therese Hession Regional Challenge, the Spartan Suncoast Invitational, the Clemson Invitational and the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational. Hollenbaugh tied for second place at the Big Ten Championships to earn a silver medal. She shot a 54-hole score of 212 (-4) and jumped 15 spots up the leaderboard after firing a five-under 67 in the final round of play. She has shot a team-best 13 rounds in the 60s this season, including a career-low 64 (-8) during the Clemson Invitational. Hollenbaugh leads the Buckeyes with a 70.77 scoring average and all 27 of her rounds played this season have counted towards the team score. She also has a team-high 94 birdies and 15 under-par rounds.
This is the first All-Big Ten honor for senior Choi. She has finished in the top 20 at six tournaments this season and in the top 10 at three. She is averaging a score of 72.66 per round, which is tied for second-best on the team, and 26 of her 27 rounds played have counted towards the team score. She is second on the team in birdies with 84. Choi has shot under par in nine rounds and has shot three rounds in the 60s. At the Big Ten Championships, Choi finished tied for 10th place with a score of 216 (E).
This is the first career All-Big Ten honor for freshman Ong. She has had a solid rookie season, earning six top 20 finishes. Her scoring average of 72.66 is tied with Choi for second-best on the team. Ong has 78 birdies, has shot three rounds in the 60s and nine under-par rounds and 26 of her 27 rounds played have counted towards the team score. Her best finish came at the Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational, where she placed fourth with a score of 215 (-1). At her first Big Ten Championships, she tied for 25th place with a 54-hole score of 220 (+4).
Marina Joyce-Moreno also earned recognition from the conference as Ohio State's honoree for the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award.
The No. 14 Buckeyes are back in action when they host NCAA Regionals at the OSU Scarlet Course Monday, May 5-Sunday, May 7.
