That and That on the Buckeyes
- This weekend's sweep over Michigan, which was the first in program history, upped Ohio State's record to 37-10-1 on the season.
- Tuesday's game is the final midweek non-conference game on the Buckeyes' regular season schedule. Ohio State is 8-1 in midweeks this season and have outscored opponents 82-23 in those nine games.
- Two of the three games were won via walk off, both thanks to Hadley Parisien home runs. Parisien is batting .307 on the year with 17 home runs, which is good for third best in the Big Ten.
- In the current winning streak, the Buckeyes have outscored their opponents 51-27, hitting .352 with 17 home runs as a team in that stretch.
- Ohio State currently leads the Big Ten in hits, home runs, runs, RBI and walks. Of the 48 games played, only five have been without a Buckeye bomb. Their 118 homeruns this season ties the Big Ten record for most in a season, set by Michigan in 2015.
- Jasmyn Burns, who last weekend became the program's single season home run and RBI leader, is batting .496, which is good for second in the Big Ten and sixth nationally. Her 22 homeruns this season are not only the most in program history, but also are tied for most in the country and conference.
- Powered by a Michigan series in which she hit .500, Skylar Limon has climbed to an average of .384 that is second best on the roster. She is tied with teammate Morgan Frye for fifth most walks in the conference (29) and has reached base in 22 of the last 23 games.
Scouting the Competition
- Ohio leads the MAC this season with an overall record of 31-12 and a mark of 14-4 in conference play. Like Ohio State, the Bobcats are coming off a successful weekend in which they swept defending MAC champion Miami.
- Four Bobcats have batting averages above .300, led by Lauren Yuhas, who checks in at .348 with 10 doubles, two triples and 29 RBI. Her .430 on-base percentage is also tops on the team.
- Redshirt Junior Skipp Miller is the Bobcats' top pitcher (13-5) and strikeout leader (98) this season. However, freshman Anna Wise holds the lowest earned run average on the staff (2.13). She is 10-3 on the year. OU's team ERA of 2.75 is the best in the MAC.
- Ohio is coached by Jenna Hall, who spent seven seasons as an assistant coach at Ohio State (2013-19).
Familiar Foes
- Tuesday will be the 75th all-time meeting between Ohio State and Ohio.
- The two teams met last season in Columbus; the Buckeyes won 8-0 in five innings on a walk-off grand slam.
