COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 6 Ohio State men's lacrosse team makes the trip north for its 2025 regular season finale at No. 12 Michigan this weekend. The Buckeyes (11-2, 3-1 B1G) and Wolverines (7-5, 3-1 B1G) face off at 4 p.m. Saturday, April 19 from U-M Lacrosse Stadium.

The 2025 Big Ten Men's Lacrosse Tournament begins next week. The teams that finish first and second in the final regular season standings earn a first-round bye. The third and fourth place teams host the sixth and fifth-place teams, respectively, in the opening round of the tournament Saturday, April 26. This year's conference tournament semifinal and final games will be played May 1-3 at Michigan.

Buckeyes In a Nutshell
- The Buckeyes are tied for first in the conference with Michigan entering Saturday's game, which will decide the Big Ten's 2025 regular season champion. Both teams have 3-1 league records. Ohio State's lone conference loss on the year came last week to Maryland, 13-8. The team has Big Ten wins over Penn State, Johns Hopkins and Rutgers.
- Saturday's game is also the final matchup in this season's quest for the Creator's Trophy. The trophy was established in 2012 and is contested between Michigan, Penn State and the Buckeyes as the original three men's lacrosse programs in the Big Ten. It is intended to pay homage to the sport's heritage as the Creator's game and encourage sportsmanship on and off the field. Ohio State has won the trophy three times with the last win in 2022.
- The Tewaaraton Foundation named the 25 men's and women's nominees for the 2025 Tewaaraton Award Thursday with Caleb Fyock and Bobby Van Buren representing Ohio State on the list. Ohio State is one of seven teams with multiple nominees this year. The pair are the first Buckeyes since 2022 to be named nominees for the preeminent lacrosse award. - Ohio State is ranked sixth in the media and coaches' polls this week. The team has been ranked for the last eight weeks and top 10 for the last six.
- Junior close defenseman Cullen Brown recorded three caused turnovers last game for the Buckeyes to bring his season total to a program-record 30 on the year. His 55 caused turnovers in his career rank second in the record book. The Silver Spring, Md. native's 2.31 caused turnovers per game lead the Big Ten and rank sixth nationally. As a team, the Buckeyes average a league-leading 10.15 caused turnovers a game.
- The Buckeye defense ranks in the top 10 nationally in goals against (8.85) and has held opponents to single digits in eight games this season.
- Entering the last weekend of the regular season, Ohio State sits atop the league in ground balls per game (33.08), scoring margin (4.08) and scoring offense (12.92). Alex Marinier's 44-percent shooting percentage this season is the best in the conference while Fyock leads the league in save percentage (.612).
- Marinier and Jack McKenna are tied with a team-high 12 points in conference play. McKenna's seven assists in league games tie for the most by a Big Ten player. Marinier's .833 shot percentage in Big Ten games is tied for first while his 11 goals in four conference games rank second.
- Ohio State's offense is running by committee with contributions up and down the lineup. Thirteen players have recorded at least a point in conference play and the team is tied for the most double-digit goal scorers in the country entering this weekend's game with eight. Marinier leads the way with 40 goals and Garrett Haas (20), Ryan Donnery (17), Ed Shean (14), Shane O'Leary (13), Gannon Matthews (11), Ben Mayer (10) and McKenna (10) are all in double figures.
- In goal for the Buckeyes, Fyock has earned a .612 save percentage on the season with eight games with 10-plus saves. The Bowie, Md. native averages over 15 saves per game in conference games in his second season for the Buckeyes. His 7.55 goals against average is good for third in the country.
- Saturday is the 21st meeting between the two programs all-time and the 18th as varsity programs.
- The series between the teams as Division I opponents started in 2012 and since then, the Buckeyes are 11-6 against the Wolverines. Â
- Ohio State's last win in Ann Arbor was a 14-6 win during the 2021 conference-only schedule. Ohio State is 5-4 at Michigan.
