COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 24 Ohio State women's golf team had another phenomenal day on the course at The Reserve at Lake Keowee, breaking two program records in round two of the Clemson Invitational.
The Buckeyes broke the 18-hole program scoring record for the second time in as many days, firing a 16-under 272 on Saturday. The Buckeyes' 36-hole score of 547 (-29) is also a program record and puts Ohio State in first place at the tournament.
Three Buckeyes shot rounds in the 60s on Saturday, bringing the total for the tournament so far to seven rounds in the 60s.
Kary Hollenbaugh is tied for first place. She fired a 68 (-4) in round two and has a two-round score of 136 (-8). She has shot nine rounds in the 60s this season, which is a team-high. Hollenbaugh birdied four holes on Saturday.
Marina Joyce-Moreno tied her career-low with a 69 (-3) on Saturday. She has a two-round score of 138 (-6) and is tied for fourth place. She had six birdies in the second round.
Mandy Song had a career-best day on the course, firing an impressive eight-under 64. She had one eagle and six birdies. Her score is tied for the second lowest in program history. After two rounds, she is tied for 11th place with an overall score of 139 (-5).
Faith Choi shot 71 (-1) on Saturday and is tied for 13th place with a score of 140 (-4). Choi birdied six holes in round two.
Nellie Ong shot an even 72 in round two. She is tied for 20th with a 36-hole score of 141 (-3) and she had three birdies in the second round.
Kavya Ajjarapu, who is competing as an individual, carded a 75 (+3) in round two. She is tied for 58th place with a score of 149 (+5).
The Clemson Invitational concludes on Sunday, March 30. The teams played nine holes of round three on Saturday due to expected inclement weather and will play the remaining nine holes on Sunday morning.
