- Ohio State advanced to the national title game with a 4-2 win over No. 3 seed Cornell in Friday's semifinal game.
- The Buckeyes have been to four straight title games and this year is the third straight they will play Wisconsin for a national championship. The last two seasons, the Buckeyes and Badgers have played to 1-0 decisions with Wisconsin taking the game in 2023 and Ohio State winning in 2024.
- This year marks the Buckeyes' fifth consecutive trip to the Frozen Four. The team has been to six Frozen Fours in program history – 2018, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025 – with all of them occurring during Nadine Muzerall's nine-year tenure as head coach.
- The 2025 national championship game also marks the 23rd time a WCHA team will play for a national title.
