COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 3 Ohio State returns from its west coast trip and will take on the Wisconsin Badgers on Friday night at 6 p.m. and the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Sunday at noon. Friday’s match will be indoors at the Ty Tucker Tennis Center and Sunday’s match is scheduled to be outside at the Auer Tennis Complex. The Buckeyes look to remain undefeated in conference play.
- On Friday, Ohio State will look to win its 35th consecutive match against Wisconsin, which is its longest win-streak against any Big Ten school. Head coach Ty Tucker has never lost to Wisconsin.
- Overall, the Buckeyes are 52-31-2 vs. the Badgers and have given up just six points in the last 14 meetings.
- On the year, Wisconsin is 7-5 overall and 1-3 in conference play.
- Sunday’s match with Nebraska will be the 17th meeting all-time between the programs. Ohio State has won all 16 previous meetings, dating back to the first meeting in 2002, and has not given up more than one point in any match.
- Ohio State played Nebraska two times last season, winning 6-1 in Columbus and 4-1 in the Big Ten Tournament in Evanston.
- The Cornhuskers come into the weekend at 9-5 overall and 2-2 in Big Ten play. Nebraska had an impressive 5-2 win over No. 17 Michigan last Friday night in Lincoln.
- Nebraska’s head coach is former Ohio State All-American Peter Kobelt. Kobelt was a three-time All-American for the Buckeyes from 2011-14 and is second in program history with 139 career doubles victories.
- The Buckeyes have a record of 14-2 overall on the year and a perfect 3-0 mark in conference play.
- Ohio State is coming off its first west coast trip where the Buckeyes beat Oregon 4-0 and Washington 4-1.
- The Buckeyes have won 68 consecutive home matches dating back to the 2021 season.
- Three Buckeyes remain ranked in the latest ITA singles rankings. Aidan Kim is No. 13, Alexander Bernard is No. 52 and Jack Anthrop is No. 77. Bryce Nakashima and Will Jansen are No. 41 in the doubles rankings.
- Anthrop won his 100th career match last Sunday at Washington. He has lost just one dual singles match this spring and has a record of 16-4 overall.
- Kim won three of his four matches last weekend out west, including pairing with Jansen to beat the No. 55 ranked doubles team of Cesar Bouchelaghem and Dzianis Zharyn of Washington.
- Freshman Nikita Filin continues the impressive start to his career as he and Brandon Carpico rolled to a pair of doubles victories last weekend and he also claimed his first dual singles win. He beat Rohan Belday of Washington 6-1, 6-2.
