NCAA Champion Andrew Lutschaunig Returns to OSU as the New Assistant Coach

Andrew Lutschaunig returns to the Ohio State Men’s Tennis program as the team’s new assistant coach.
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ty Tucker and the Ohio State men's tennis program announced Tuesday afternoon that Ohio State men's tennis alum Andrew Lutschaunig is returning to campus as the team's new assistant coach.
"Andrew is a hard worker and a National Champion for the Buckeyes, and we are excited for him to share his knowledge and experience with our team," said director of tennis Ty Tucker. "While we will miss Hunter Callahan and all the contributions he made to Ohio State men's tennis, we know Andrew has what it takes to make an impact with this program and help them succeed at the highest level."
Lutschaunig returns to his alma mater to take over the assistant coaching position from Hunter Callahan as he moves on to his next chapter. As a student, Lutschaunig in his four years as a Buckeye, including winning a NCAA Doubles Championship in 2023 and an ITA Fall Nationals Doubles Championship in 2022. He was a member of the second Ohio State doubles team to win an NCAA Doubles Championship in program history. Lutschaunig compiled a career record of 68-24 in doubles and went 18-9 in singles.
After graduation, Lutschaunig transferred his skills to help coach at the Kass Tennis Academy in Columbus, Ohio. He joined the world of collegiate coaching last year, where he spent the 2025-26 season with the Dayton Flyers. During his time with Dayton, Lutschaunig helped coach the team to an 18-7 record and was 5-0 in conference play, making an appearance in the Atlantic 10 conference final.
