Ohio State won by scores of 25-20, 25-19, 25-22.

The Buckeyes were led in kills by Kyle Teune with 11 and Stanislaw Chacinski with 10.
Shane Wetzel led the Buckeyes with nine digs.
Freshman setter Daniel Henwood Rodriguez led both squads with 34 assists.
How it Happened
Set 1 (OSU 25-20)
Cole Young and Stanislaw Chacinski got the Buckeyes out to a 2-0 start with consecutive kills. Back-to-back kills by Kyle Tuene made it 5-3 Ohio State. The Royals tied it at 6-all with a 3-1 run. The Buckeyes responded with a 4-1 run to back on top 10-7. Ohio State kept its advantage at the media timeout, 15-13. Queens called timeout after the Buckeyes returned from the break with a 3-1 run to take an 18-14 lead. The Royals scored the next three points to make it 18-17 Buckeyes before an Ohio State timeout. A Queens ace tied the set at 18-all. A Chacinski kill then capped a 5-1 Ohio State run that made it 23-19 Buckeyes before the final timeout called by the Royals. The Buckeyes then won the set 25-20 with a triple block by Chacinski, Shane Wetzel and Aaron Grimm ending the set. Ohio State hit .424 with 17 kills. Chacinski led the six with Wetzel next at five.Â

Set 2 (OSU, 25-19)
The Royals jumped to a 4-0 lead to start the set. A Wetzel/Young block cut the lead to 4-3 Queens. Ohio State tied it at 6-all with a 3-0 run and took the lead at 8-7 with a kill by Teune and a Daniel Henwood Rodriguez and Young. A DHR ace gave the Buckeyes an 11-9 cushion. Consecutive aces by Chacinski made it 14-10 Ohio State. A Teune kill led to the media timeout with the Buckeyes on top 15-11 after a 6-2 run. Wetzel kept the pressure on with a kill to make it 18-12 Ohio State. The Royals called timeout but the Buckeyes scored the next two for a 20-12 advantage. Queens used its final timeout with Ohio State leading 23-16 before the Buckeyes finished off the set 25-9 on a Royals service error.Â

Set 3 (OSU, 25-22)
Ohio State began to create some separation after 3-all tie to open the set. The Buckeyes used a 6-1 run for a 9-4 advantage. The Buckeyes went to the media timeout with a 15-10 lead after kills by Grimm and Teune. Queens clawed to withing four at 18-14 on a 3-1 run. A Tyler Tharpe kill got the Buckeyes to a 20-15 advantage. The Royals used a 4-0 run to make it 20-19 Buckeyes before a Tharpe kill kept Ohio State in control at 21-19. Queens rallied to tie it at 21-all. Tharpe and Young combined on a block before a Royals timeout with the Buckeyes on top 22-21. Wetzel blased an ace after the break before a Young kill led to match point (24-21). Queens called its final timeout before a Chacinski kill ended it for a 25-22 set win.Â
