- Alexander Bernard played in the 2023 match against Oregon, taking the first set from Jesper Klov-Nilsson before the team match was clinched.
- Oregon has started the year 8-6 overall. The Ducks opened Big Ten play last weekend by dropping both legs of the trip to Michigan, falling 4-0 to the Wolverines and 4-2 at Michigan State.
- Sunday’s match against Washington will be the seventh meeting overall between the two teams and the fourth in Seattle. Washington won the first two meetings in 1993 and 2005 and the Buckeyes have won the last four matches.
- The Buckeyes are 2-1 against the Huskies in Seattle, having won in 2009 and then winning 4-1 at the ITA National Team Indoor Championship in 2022.
- Washington also lost both matches last weekend on its Michigan road trip. The Huskies lost 5-2 at Michigan State and then dropped a tough 4-3 decision at Michigan on Sunday. Washington has lost its last four matches and is 8-4 on the year.
- Ohio State is 12-2 overall on the season and is coming off a 5-2 win over Penn State last Saturday in the Big Ten opener for both teams.
