
No. 4 Buckeyes Start West Coast Trip with 4-0 Win at Oregon

COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 4 Ohio State started its west coast trip on Friday with a dominant 4-0 sweep at Oregon.
The Buckeyes are now 13-2 on the year and 2-0 in Big Ten play.
This was just the third all-time meeting between Ohio State and Oregon and the first meeting in Eugene. The Ducks won a neutral site match in 1998, and the Buckeyes won 4-0 in the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Columbus in January of 2023.
Doubles
- Aidan Kim and Will Jansen played one of their better matches of the season on court one. They broke to go up 4-2 and then after holding serve, the broke again on love to beat Lenn Luemkemann and Matthew Burton 6-2.
- The clinching point came from Brandon Carpico and Nikita Filin. The freshman duo continued their good play as they raced out to a 3-0 lead and rode that edge to a 6-3 victory.
Singles
- The Buckeyes didn’t let Oregon get any momentum in the match.
- Jack Anthrop has been playing well, and he got the Buckeyes rolling in singles as he dusted Clement Lemire 6-3, 6-0 on court four. Anthrop is now just one win away from 100 in his career.
- Aidan Kim rebounded from a singles loss last Saturday with a strong 6-1, 6-4 win over Lenn Luemkemann on court one.
- Leading 3-0, the clinching point came from Alexander Bernard on court two. He took down Vlad Breazu 6-4, 6-4 and the Buckeyes had their seventh sweep of the season.
- Chris Li and Bryce Nakashima both went into a tiebreaker in the opening set and both were dominant in the breaker. Li won his 7-4 and Nakashima won his 7-2. Li faced a crucial deuce point down 5-6 in play a great point, winning with a big forehand winner. Both Li and Nakashima were on serve in the second set.
- Will Jansen dopped his opening set and fell behind early in the second but fought back and was 5-5 in the second when the match was clinched.

The Buckeyes will remain on the west coast and will play at Washington on Sunday afternoon. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET.
