Buckeyes improve to 5-0 on the year with another strong defensive effort
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 20 Ohio State women's lacrosse posted a 15-5 road win at Robert Morris Saturday in Moon Township, Pa. Ohio State improves to 5-0 on the year and the Colonials are now 1-5.

The Short Story
The Buckeyes led 3-1 after the first quarter and 6-2 at halftime, with three goals in each of the first two quarters. Ohio State took control in the third quarter, outscoring the Colonials 4-0 and not allowing a shot attempt. The Buckeyes scored the first eight goals of the second half and held Robert Morris scoreless for a 22:24 stretch. Ohio State tallied five times in the fourth quarter and the Colonials scored twice for the 15-5 final.

Leah Sax had four goals and five points for the Buckeyes and Brynn Ammerman had four assists and five points. Kate Tyack notched two goals and an assist for a three-point day and Maddy Paz tallied twice. Emily Magalotti had two goals, three draw controls and two ground balls. Lexie Kupka had a Buckeye-best four draw controls and Lilli Sherman had three of the Buckeyes' 17 caused turnovers.

The Schedule Ahead
- The Buckeyes will host Cincinnati at 3 p.m. Friday in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. Admission and parking are free for all regular season home games.
- A snow squall delayed the game's start nearly 30 minutes.
- The Buckeyes scored the first two goals of the contest, with Leah Sax converting a free position chance at 12:51 and Brynn Ammerman setting up Kate Tyack at 11:34.
- A player-up goal at 10:15 put Robert Morris on the board but Ammerman found Maddy Paz for a goal at 3:20 and Ohio State carried a 3-1 lead into the first break.
- The Colonials scored the first and last goals of the second quarter (at 12:59 and :14), with the Buckeyes scoring three times.
- In the second quarter, Ammerman set up Kampbell Stone at 12:01, Sax tallied unassisted less than a minute later and Maeve Simonds scored on a free position chance at 10:18. Ohio State led 6-3 at the half.
- Ohio State went on an eight-goal run in the second half. The Buckeyes scored four times in the third quarter. Sax completed her hat trick 59 seconds into the quarter. Pas drove the cage and scored at 8:42, Sax set up an Emily Magalotti tally at 3:26 and Kate Tyack scored unassisted at :56.
- A player-up goal from Ammerman, assisted by Tyack, opened the scoring in the fourth quarter at 14:09. Magalotti scored on a free position at 13:29 and Ammerman set up Zoe Coleman at 12:20. Sax notched her fourth of the game at 9:50.
- RMU ended the Buckeye run and its scoreless streak at 22:24 with a goal at 7:50.
- Buckeye Isabelle Osborn notched her first collegiate goal at 5:33 and a Robert Morris tally at 1:35 closed out the scoring in the game.
- The Buckeyes outshot the Colonials, 35-11, including 13-3 in the second half. Ohio State did not allow a shot in the third quarter.
- Ohio State won the ground ball battle, 16-8, and recorded 15-of-24 draw controls.
- Audrey Schoemer led Ohio State with three ground balls and Magalotti and Lilli Sherman each had two. Lexie Kupka was first for the Buckeyes with four draw controls and Magalotti and Stone each had three.
- The Buckeyes caused 17 turnovers; Sherman had a team-high three and Tyack forced two.
- Ohio State  continued its outstanding clear game, going 21-for-21 on the day.
- Jocelyn Torres started and played the first 46:31 in the cage for the Buckeyes, making two saves and allowing three goals, Whitney Robinson stopped one of two shots in 9:23 and Camille Samarasinghe played 4:06 and allowed a goal in her collegiate debut.
- Ammerman is on an eight-game point streak (9g, 23a, 32p). It was her fourth career game with four or more assists and her sixth game with at least five points. Ammerman has a Buckeye-best 18 assists and 24 points this season.
- Coleman has a point in each of her last 11 games (14g, 17p) and a goal in seven straight (14).
- Tyack has 11 multiple-goal games as a Buckeye and has 12 goals in her last four games combined. She has a team-high 12 goals on the year, followed by Coleman with 11.
- Magalotti had her third career two-goal game and first since April 14, 2024 at Northwestern. She leads the Buckeye with 14 draw controls.
- Sax matched her career best with four goals, set two times prior. It was her second career five-point day, one shy of her personal best of six points.
- Sherman matched her personal best with three caused turnovers.
- Torres has a 5.51 goals-against average and .618 save percentage this season, making 42 saves.
- Sherman has a team-high nine caused turnovers. Schoemer is first on the team with 12 ground balls, followed by Stone with nine.
- Olivia Orso, Caitlyn Durchanek, SK Isakson, Maddie White and Lindsey McCulloch made their Buckeyes debuts in the win.
