COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 2024-25 regular season comes to a close this weekend for the No. 2 Ohio State women's hockey team. The Buckeyes (21-6-3, 15-6-3 WCHA) host No. 11 St. Cloud State (15-11-6, 10-11-5 WCHA) at 6 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday at the OSU Ice Rink.

The team will celebrate its 2025 senior class prior to Saturday's game. The class includes Riley Brengman, Jenna Buglioni, Amanda Thiele, Makenna Webster, Maddi Wheeler, Kiara Zanon and Emily Zumwinkle. The recognition will start at approximately 2 p.m.

Ohio State will start the 2024-25 post season on home ice, hosting the best-of-three WCHA First Round series at the OSU Ice Rink Feb. 28-March 2. The Buckeyes will host either Minnesota State or St. Thomas. Tickets for the games can be purchased HERE.

Buckeyes in a Nutshell
- Ohio State returns to play after a bye weekend last week. The team was originally scheduled to play at Wisconsin, but the series was moved to Jan. 2-4 to allow the teams to play in the Frozen Confines: Big Ten Hockey Series.
- The Buckeyes currently sit at second in the WCHA standings with 53 points with two games of the regular season remaining. They are two points ahead of Minnesota. Wisconsin (71), Ohio State, Minnesota (51) and Minnesota Duluth (48) have secured home ice for the WCHA First Round next week.
- Joy Dunne leads the Buckeyes with a career-high 43 points in 32 games played this season. She has a point in 11 of the last 12 games this season and multiple points in the last three games. The sophomore also leads the team with a career-high 24 assists.
- Jocelyn Amos has scored a team-high 21 goals on the year. She is the first player on the team to 20 goals this season and ranks sixth nationally in goals per game (.66).
- Amos paces the WCHA with eight power play goals this season. The sophomore is eighth nationally in the category and 15 of her career-high 40 points have come on the power play.
- Seventeen of the team's 18 skaters, and two of four goalies, have recorded a point this year. Sixteen of the 17 have recorded a goal. The Buckeyes are second in the country with 3.84 goals per game.
- The team has four players - Dunne, Amos, Jenna Buglioni (37) and Kiara Zanon (32) - who have hit the 30-point mark this year.
- Ohio State's power play ranks eighth in the country with a .258 conversion rate. In the last month, the team has seen improved success on the player-advantage, converting at a rate of .368 in the last 28 days to rank first nationally.
- The Buckeyes only allow their opponents 18.53 shots per game. Riley Brengman leads the team with 33 blocked shots with Emma Peschel second with 31.
- Graduate goaltender Amanda Thiele leads the goaltending unit with 20 starts in 21 games played this season for Ohio State. She has a 14-5-2 record on the year and has earned a .890 save percentage.
- Fifteen Buckeyes earned WCHA All-Academic Team honors, the conference announced Tuesday. To be eligible for the WCHA All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in their previous two semesters or three quarters and have achieved at least sophomore status in their academic careers.Â
- Freshman defender Mira Jungåker returns to collegiate competition this weekend after helping Sweden qualify for the Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic Winter Games earlier this month. Joined on the team by incoming Buckeyes Jenna Raunio and Hilda Svenson, Jungåker helped Sweden to wins over Norway (3-0), the Netherlands (8-0) and Denmark (5-0) to earn a spot at next year's Olympics. The Olympic tournament field will consist of the United States, Canada, Sweden, Czechia, Finland, Switzerland and host Italy.
- Head coach Nadine Muzerall became Ohio State's all-time winningest coach this season. She has amassed a 218-79-22 record in nine seasons as the Buckeyes' head coach.
- Ohio State is 63-31-12 against St. Cloud State in the all-time series.
- The 2024-25 season series started in St. Cloud, Minn. in October, with Ohio State winning game one, 5-1, and game two ending in a 3-3 tie with the Huskies taking the extra conference point with a shootout win.
- The Buckeyes are 8-1-1 against St. Cloud State in the last 10 meetings.
- The last time the teams met in Columbus was Dec. 1-2, 2023. St. Cloud State took game one, 2-1, but Ohio State responded with a 6-1 game two win to split the series.
- Six members of the 2024-25 Ohio State women's hockey team - Riley Brengman, Jenna Buglioni, Amanda Thiele, Makenna Webster, Maddi Wheeler, Kiara Zanon and Emily Zumwinkle - will be recognized on Saturday for Senior Day.
- The class has led the program to two national champions and WCHA regular season championships and a Final Faceoff championship.
- The group has helped the Buckeyes to their first three national title game appearances and four straight NCAA Tournament and Frozen Four appearances.
- Brengman, Buglioni and Thiele - this year's captains - are fifth-year members of the program. Webster has been a Buckeye for three seasons, Zanon for two and Wheeler and Zumwinkle joined the team ahead of the 2024-25 season.
