COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's lacrosse team improved to 2-0 this season with a 9-6 win over Louisville Saturday morning in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. Louisville is 2-1 on the year.

The Short Story
Ohio State did not trail in the game. The Buckeyes led 3-1 after the first quarter and 4-2 at the half. Louisville drew within one three times in the second half, but the Buckeyes answered each time. A three-goal run late in the fourth quarter helped put the game out of reach.

Kate Tyack led the Buckeyes with four goals, Maddy Paz tallied twice and Brynn Ammerman had two assists. Ohio State captured 14-of-18 draw controls, led by Emily Magalotti with five and Makena Harrington with four. Ohio State caused 11 turnovers. Kampbell Stone, Ammerman, Lilli Sherman and Zoe Coleman each forced two turnovers. Buckeye goalie Jocelyn Torres had seven saves in the win.

The Schedule Ahead
- The Buckeyes will head to Nashville for a game vs. Vanderbilt next Saturday.
- The Scarlet and Gray will then return home to host Akron at 3 p.m. Feb. 26 in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.
- Brynn Ammerman set up Kate Tyack with 8:01 in the first quarter to open the scoring.
- Louisville tied the game at 5:49, but two Buckeye goals in the final 3:40 gave Ohio State a 3-1 lead at the first quarter break.
- Freshman Maddy Paz notched her first collegiate goal at 3:40 and Ammerman found Zoe Coleman in front at 2:52.
- Each team scored once in the second quarter, both on a free position chance. Maggie McMahon tallied at 11:42 and Tyack notched her second goal of the game at 6:31.
- Two of the three goals in quarter three were from the Cardinals, making it a one-goal game (5-4) entering the fourth.
- Izzy Seikel cut the lead to 4-3 game at 12:58 and Tyack scored unassisted for the Buckeyes 1:01 later, completing her hat trick. A free position goal from UofL's Ella Berg again trimmed the Ohio State advantage to one.
- Tyack tallied her fourth of the game just 54 seconds into the fourth to move the Buckeye lead to two.
- Louisville again drew within one at 9:57 on a free position goal, but a Buckeye three-goal run helped seal the win.
- Paz and Annie Hargraves tallied back to back on free position chances at 5:08 and 3:15, respectively. Kampbell Stone scored unassisted at 1:45 to push the Buckeye lead to 9-5 at 1:45.
- Louisville notched the game's final goal with 1:15 remaining for the 9-6 final.
- Ohio State had the lead in shots, 33-19. Buckeye goalie Jocelyn Torres made seven saves, including four in the third quarter. The UofL goalie made 12 stops.
- The Buckeyes had the edge in ground balls, 12-11. Ammerman led Ohio State with two.
- Emily Magalotti had five draw controls and Makena Harrington had four. In all, the Buckeyes won the draw control battle, 14-4.
- In the game, Ohio State caused 11 turnovers, with Kampbell Stone, Ammerman, Lilli Sherman and Zoe Coleman each forcing two.
- Tyack matched her career high with four goals, first set last year at Penn State. She has eight multiple-goal games as a Buckeye.
- Paz's goals were the first of her collegiate career.
- Coleman has a point in each of her last eight games (8g, 11p) and a goal in four straight (8).
- Hargraves moved her goal and point streaks to six 10 in the stretch.
- Ammerman is on a five-game point streak (3g, 9a, 12p). She has 11 games with multiple assists as a Buckeye.
- Magalotti's five draw controls matched her personal best. She also had five against Marquette last season.
