Tyack, Stone and Sax all posted five points for the Buckeyes
COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 24 Ohio State women's lacrosse team opened the game with a 4-0 lead and never looked back, downing Vanderbilt 14-8 in Nashville Saturday afternoon. The Buckeyes are now 3-0 this season and the Commodores are 2-3.

The Buckeyes scored the game's first four goals, with three in the first 4:30 of the contest. Vandy tallied twice to close out the first quarter with Ohio State ahead 4-2. Kate Tyack tallied three times to start the second for a 7-2 Buckeye lead and Ohio State carried an 8-4 lead into halftime. The Buckeyes scored twice to start the third quarter, with Vanderbilt notching the next two, for a 10-6 Ohio State lead through 45 minutes. The Buckeyes' Kampbell Stone tallied 31 seconds into the fourth quarter, answered by Vandy with two goals to cut the lead to three for the first time since early in the second quarter. Ohio State then shut out the Commodores for the final 11:56, scoring three times, for the 14-8 victory.

- The Scarlet and Gray return home to host Akron at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. Admission and parking are free.
- The squad will then play at Robert Morris March 1 before hosting Cincinnati at 3 p.m. March 7.

- The Buckeyes tallied three times in the first 4:30 of the game. Brynn Ammerman scored just 40 seconds into the game, set up by Leah Sax, followed by a Kampbell Stone goal, off an assist from Kate Tyack, at 12:24. Sax scored on a free position chance at 10:30.
- An unassisted goal from Kampbell Stone at 5:59 pushed the Buckeye lead to 4-0.
- Vandy got on the board with a free position goal at 4:38 and tallied in the final minute of the quarter to draw within two.
- Kate Tyack notched a hat trick in the first three minutes of the second quarter, scoring unassisted at 13:41 and 13:18 and off an assist from Ammerman at 12:00, moving Ohio State's lead to 7-2.
- Vanderbilt scored two of the final three goals of the half for an 8-4 game heading into the lockerroom. A Sax free position goal at 5:38 was sandwiched by Vandy goals at 8:40 and with 37 seconds left.
- Each team scored twice in the third quarter. Ammerman found Zoe Coleman for a Buckeye goal at 10:37 and Tyack converted a free position opportunity at 8:47, moving the Buckeye lead to 10-4.
- Vanderbilt goals at 8:13 and with 18 seconds left in the stanza on a player-up chance made the score 10-6 in favor of the visiting team.
- Stone scored unassisted 31 seconds into the fourth, followed by two Vanderbilt tallies at 12:29 and 11:56, for a three-goal game (11-8), the closest the Commodores had been since the second quarter.
- The Buckeyes shut out the Commodores the rest of the way, scoring three goals of their own, for the 14-8 final.
- Ammerman found Coleman with the Buckeyes player-up at 5:50, Ammerman scored a goal of her own, assisted by Sax, at 2:41 and Sax wrapped up the game with a free position goal with 41 seconds left.
- Ohio State outshot the Commodores, 33-31.
- Buckeye goalie Jocelyn Torres made 14 saves, including four in each of the first three quarters. The Vanderbilt goalie made eight saves.
- The Commodores had the edge in draw controls, 15-10, and Ohio State led in ground balls, 18-12. Emily Magalotti and Stone each had three draw controls and two ground balls for the Buckeyes. Ammerman and Ella Wright also picked up two ground balls each.
- Tyack notched her second straight four-goal game, matching her career high. She has nine multiple-goal games as a Buckeye. She leads the Buckeyes with eight goals on the year.
- Coleman has a point in each of her last nine games (10g, 13p) and a goal in five straight (10).
- Ammerman is on a six-game point streak (5g, 12a, 17p). She has 12 games with multiple assists as a Buckeye, with at least two in each game this year.
