Ohio State is 2-0 on the year
The Basics
- The Ohio State women's lacrosse team hits the road for the first time this season, taking on Vanderbilt at 1 p.m. ET Saturday at Vanderbilt Lacrosse Complex in Nashville, Tenn.

- The Buckeyes are 2-0 on the year, with the Commodores 2-2.
- Ohio State has an 8-13 all-time record against Vanderbilt.
- The teams were league foes in the American Lacrosse Conference from 2002-2013. The series started in 1996 and the teams met every year through 2014.
- The last matchup between the programs was a 17-5 Buckeye road win April 6, 2014.
- The Commodores are 2-2 this season. They opened the year with a 13-8 win at Cincinnati before a 20-12 home loss to Clemson and a 17-8 defeat on the road at Denver. Wednesday, Vanderbilt posted a 19-7 road win over Mercer.
- Ohio State moved to 2-0 with a 9-6 victory over Louisville in Columbus Saturday.
- The Buckeyes did not trail in the game. Ohio State led 3-1 after the first quarter and 4-2 at the half. Louisville drew within one three times in the second half, but the Buckeyes answered each time. A three-goal run for the Buckeyes late in the fourth quarter helped put the game out of reach.
- Kate Tyack led Ohio State with four goals vs. Louisville, Maddy Paz tallied twice and Brynn Ammerman had two assists. Ohio State captured 14-of-18 draw controls, led by Emily Magalotti with five and Makena Harrington with four. Buckeye goalie Jocelyn Torres had seven saves in the win.
- Ohio State is in the national polls this week. The squad moved into the IWLCA coaches poll at No. 24, is No. 22 in the IL Women media poll and is No. 19 in the USA Lacrosse rankings.
- The Buckeyes are fifth nationally in scoring defense, allowing 5.50 goals per game.
- Goalie Jocelyn Torres has 18 saves, with just 11 goals allowed, through her first two games as a Buckeye. She ranks first nationally in save percentage (.621) and is fourth in goals-against average (5.50).
- Zoe Coleman has a point in each of her last eight games (12g, 15p) and a goal in four straight, with eight goals in the stretch. She had a career-high four goals in the season opener and scored once last time out vs. Louisville. Coleman has notched 34 goals in her 35-game career, adding 19 assists for 53 points.
- Annie Hargraves moved her goal and point streaks to six with a score vs. Louisville and has 10 goals in the stretch. Hargraves tallied 24 times a season ago and now has three goals this season. In her 36 games for the Scarlet and Gray, she has 40 goals and 41 points.
- Brynn Ammerman is on a five-game point streak (3g, 9a, 12p). Ammerman opened the year with two assists in each of the first two games. Last season, she led the Buckeyes with 28 assists.
- Freshman Maddy Paz scored her first two collegiate goals in the game vs. Louisville. Her classmate Abby Boyle notched her first two draw controls last time out.
- Emily Magalotti matched her career high with five draw controls against the Cards and Makena Harrington recorded a personal-best four in the win.
- Lilli Sherman had a team-high three caused turnovers in the game against Louisville.
- After she was held scoreless in the first game of the year, Kate Tyack notched her second career four-goal game in the win over the Cardinals. She ended last season on nine-game goal and point streaks and had 24 goals and 31 points as a freshman in 2024.
- The Scarlet and Gray return home to host Akron at 3 p.m. Feb. 26 in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. Admission and parking are free.
- The squad will then play at Robert Morris March 1 before hosting Cincinnati at 3 p.m. March 7.
