Ohio State Selected for 2024 NCAA Championships

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State rowing team is set to make its 24th team appearance at the NCAA Championships May 31-June 2 after securing an at-large bid Tuesday following a fourth-place finish at the 2024 Big Ten Championships Sunday in Baraboo, Wisconsin.
The Buckeyes are one of four Big Ten teams to compete in the 2024 NCAA Championships. The Buckeyes, along with Indiana and Rutgers, are three of the 11 at-large selections while Michigan is the Big Ten's automatic qualifier.
The 2024 NCAA event is being held at East Fork/Harsha Lake in Bethel, Ohio. Marietta College and the Cincinnati USA Sports Commission are the hosts.
The Buckeyes are one of 22 teams who will compete at the championships. Each school will field two eight boats and one four boat for the championship event.
Ohio State's First Varsity Eight (13 seed) will open in Heat 4 and will row out of lane 5 on the opening day of competition May 31. The Second Varsity Eight (seeded 13th) also will be in the fourth heat in lane 5 and the First Varsity Eight (the No. 9 seed) will start from lane 2 in the opening heat of that competition.
BUCKEYES IN THE NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
Ohio State comes into the championships having competed in each NCAA regatta held since 2000 (24 total). The Buckeyes own seven individual boat titles and has finished in the Top-10 as a team a total of 21 times.
The Buckeyes won NCAA national titles in 2013, 2014 and 2015. The team finished second in 2016 and owns one third (2007) and two fourth-place (2001, 2005) finishes. Ohio State placed eighth in 2022 and 12th in 2023.
The 2024 NCAA Championships will be the fourth for Kate Sweeney as head coach of the Buckeyes.
