United States earns six medals in Germany
Boes helped the Americans defeat Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Canada and Italy. The U.S. squad turned in a time of 6:05.70 to claim gold. Great Britain took silver (6:12.06) and host Germany took bronze (6:14.31).Â
The U.S. women's eight dominated the final, winning by open water to capture gold and extend its remarkable streak to 20 podium finishes in 20 U23 World Championships.

The Americans spent the opening strokes of the race neck-and-neck with Great Britain before quickly establishing their speed and pulling away from the field. The third 500 meters proved decisive as the U.S. cleared open water on the British crew. Syracuse University's Olivia Bachert, Ohio State University's Amelia Boes, Princeton University' Joely Cherniss, Princeton University's Lauren Dubois, University of Virginia's Elsa Hartman, University of Texas's Katherine Nordheim, University of Tennessee Hannah Smith, Stanford University's Quincy Stone, and University of Texas's Amy Werner continued to build their lead through the sprint, crossing the finish line in 6:05.70, 6.36 seconds ahead of second place.
 Boes, a native of Republic, Ohio, recently finished a decorated career with the Buckeyes after helping Ohio State to a 14th-place finish at the 2026 NCAA Championships.Â
After at third-place finish in the 2026 Big Ten Championships, Boes was named to the 2026 First Team All-Big Ten squad. She also earned College Coaches Rowing Association Second Team All-America recognition following the 2026 season.Â
Academically, Boes was named a 2026 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, 2026 Academic All-Big Ten, an Ohio State Scholar Athlete and to the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-America Third Team in the NCAA Division I At-Large category.Â
