COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Ohio State (21-8), the No. 3 seed in the 2024 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Tournament, will take on No. 4 seed Lindenwood (16-11) Saturday (7 p.m.) for the MIVA Tournament title at the Worthen Center on the campus of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. The match will be streamed by ESPN+.

Ohio State is the No. 3 seed in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Tournament after finishing third in the regular-season league race with an 11-5 record. Lindenwood is the No. 4 seed after posting a 9-7 conference record.
Ohio State is playing in the finals in consecutive seasons for the first time since the Buckeyes won three-consecutive titles from 2016-18. The Buckeyes defeated Ball State on the road for the 2023 championship.
Ohio State has won the MIVA Tournament 18 times previously. Lindenwood is playing for its first league championship.
Ohio State downed No. 6-seed Lewis 3-1 last Saturday to advance in the MIVA Tournament. The Buckeyes then took down No. 2 Loyola Chicago in the semifinals Thursday, 3-1.
In the two meetings vs. Lindenwood this year, six Buckeyes recorded 10 or more kills in the season split. Cole Young led with 20 kills while hitting .679 with just one error on 20 swings. The Lions won in St. Charles, Missouri, March 30 while Ohio State took the first match in Columbus Feb. 4. Both teams won by scores of 3-1.
Ohio State owns an 18-6 record over the Lindenwood Lions all-time. The Buckeyes are 11-1 at home in the series. Ohio State is 7-5 in St. Charles. In MIVA Tournament play, the Buckeyes are 1-0 after a 3-0 home win in the 2023 MIVA Quarterfinals last year (4/15/23). This will be the first neutral-site match in the series.
The winner between the Buckeyes and Lions will represent MIVA in the 2024 NCAA Championships. The 2024 NCAA Selection Show will be streamed live at NCAA.com at 4 p.m. Sunday.
Long Beach State will be the host institution for the 2024 NCAA Championships. Matches will be played at Walter Pyramid in Long Beach, California.
The NCAA quarterfinals are scheduled for April 30. The semifinals are set for May 2 with the finals May 4.
Ohio State advanced to the quarterfinal round of the 2023 NCAA Tournament with a 3-0 win over King University. The Buckeyes were led by Pasteur's match-high 17 kills along with 10 each from Wetzel and Jack Stevens.
The AVCA named Pasteur to its 2023 First Team All-America squad while also selecting Cole Young and Wetzel to the 2023 Honorable Mention All-America team.
The Buckeyes made their 22nd appearance in the NCAA Tournament in 2023. Ohio State had last appeared in the event in 2018 when the Buckeyes advanced to the finals before falling to Long Beach State.
Overall, the Buckeyes are 17-24 all-time in the NCAA Tournament. Ohio State won NCAA titles in 2011, 2016 and 2017.
