Senior Day
- Prior to Sunday's game, the Buckeyes will recognize this year's senior class.
- The group of 15 student-athletes have earned 30 wins in their Buckeye careers and combined for over 600 hours of community service.
- Members of the class have earned four Golden Buckeyes for wins over Michigan and in 2022 brought the program back to the NCAA Tournament.
- Those being recognized Sunday are: Danny Brady, Kurt Bruun, Tommy Burke, Connor Cmiel, Trent DiCicco, Eli Fisher, Brett Gladstone, Thomas Greenblatt, Marcus Hudgins, Greg Langermeier, Kyle Lewis, Noah Mendoza, Mitchell Sandberg, Justin Sherrer and Jacob Snyder.
- The senior ceremony will begin at approximately 6:05 p.m.
As a team...
- In their last game, the Buckeyes fell to then-No. 9 Maryland, 8-7, on the road. On the defensive end of the field, Caleb Fyock made 11 saves in net while Marcus Hudgins caused three turnovers and picked up three ground balls. Jack McKenna led the attack with three goals and four points.
- With two more regular season games, the Buckeyes are tied for third in the Big Ten with Michigan, Rutgers and Penn State.
- Ohio State's defense has continued to show that it is one of the strongest in the nation. The unit ranks seventh national with 9.42 goals against, which leads the conference. The Buckeyes are also second in the league with 8.92 caused turnovers per game.
- The team's 107 caused turnovers on the year are the most since the 2012 season.
- Ohio State paces the Big Ten with 33.67 ground balls per game. The mark is good for 13th nationally. The team also ranks in the top 20 across Division I in clearing percentage (.884) and faceoff win percentage (.558).
- Including Sunday's matchup against Johns Hopkins, Ohio State has faced four of the top five teams in this week's USILA poll and six of the top 10 teams. Ohio State's past opponents' current rankings: No. 1 Notre Dame, No. 2 Virginia, No. 4 Maryland, No. 7 Denver, No. 10 Cornell, No. 11 Penn State. Air Force, Rutgers and Utah join Ohio State in receiving votes in the poll.
- As a result, the Buckeyes' 2024 schedule is the third toughest in the country and the team sits at 15th in the RPI entering the weekend.
- Hudgins leads the team with 19 caused turnovers on the year and is third in the Big Ten with 1.58 per game.
- Freshman goalie Caleb Fyock is fifth in the country, and first in the Big Ten, with a 9.27 goals against average through 11 games in his first collegiate season.
- Alex Marinier is the first Buckeye to hit 20 goals this season, recording a team-high 22 goals, including a team-leading three man-up goals, on the year. He also leads the team with 24 points this season.
- Marinier and Jack McKenna are tied for the team lead with eight points in Big Ten play. Marinier's eight points have come on seven goals and one assist, while McKenna has six goals and two assists.
- Tommy Burke has grabbed a team-high 50 ground balls this season for the Buckeyes and leads the way at the faceoff dot with a .554 win percentage (98-177).
- Ohio State is 7-10 in the all-time series against Johns Hopkins and 7-5 against the Blue Jays as B1G opponents.
- In Columbus, the Buckeyes hold a 5-1 advantage over the Blue Jays. The team is on a five-game win streak in the series in games played at home.
- The last time the teams met in Columbus, Ohio State earned a 12-10 win in the 2022 season. Sunday is the first time the teams will meet in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.
