
Buckeyes Back Home for Game vs. Butler

The Basics
- After three road games, the Ohio State women's lacrosse team returns home to host Butler at noon Saturday.
- The teams will meet in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. Admission and parking are free.

- At the game, Ohio State will be highlighting Morgan's Message, an organization that strives to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community and equalize the treatment of physical and mental health in athletics.
- Ohio State enters the game 4-1 after falling at then-No. 10 Denver last week. Butler is 1-3 and dropped a home game to Cincinnati last weekend.
- Saturday will be the first time Ohio State and Butler meet on the lacrosse field.
- Butler is one of three Big East schools on the Ohio State schedule this season, joining Denver and Marquette.Â
- The Buckeyes are 2-0 at home after opening the season with wins against Robert Morris and Kent State in Columbus.
- Ohio State is in a stretch with three of four games at home. After the matchup with Butler, the Buckeyes' Big Ten opener is at No. 6 Michigan March 7. Ohio State will then host Marquette March 12 and No. 9 Maryland March 16.
- Senior goalie Regan Alexander had a career-high 16 saves at Denver last week. Her previous high for saves was 15, set twice in 2023 vs. both Northwestern and Marquette. She is fourth nationally in goals-against average (5.98) and eighth in the NCAA in save percentage (.569).
- Ohio State is third nationally in clearing percentage (.967), with 88 clears in 91 chances.
- Lilli Sherman, who has started all five games on defense, leads the Buckeyes with eight caused turnovers, with multiple in three games. She is tied with Alexander for first on the team with 10 ground balls, picking up a career-best five at Akron.
- The Buckeyes began the year with four wins in a row, the first 4-0 start for the program since 2015. The squad was 3-1 through its first four games each of the last two years.
- The Buckeyes are fourth nationally in scoring defense, allowing 7.20 goals a game. The squad has limited opponents to 15 first-half goals this season.Â
- Leah Sax scored twice in each of the first four games before notching a goal and two assists (the first of her career) for a career-best three points against the Pioneers. The senior entered the season with one goal and three games played in her first three seasons. She has nine goals and 11 points this year.
- Brynn Ammerman leads the Buckeyes with 12 assists and 19 points, tying for third with seven goals. She has at least one goal and point in each of the first five games. Against Akron Feb. 18, she notched a career-high five assists and six points. She is 21st in the NCAA with 2.40 assists per game. Ammerman is tied for second on the squad with six caused turnovers.Â
- Jamie Lasda leads the Buckeyes with 17 goals and is second with 17 points. She enters the game vs. Butler on an 11-game scoring streak, with 28 goals, 12 assists and 40 points in the stretch. In her 47-game Buckeye career, Lasda has 81 goals, 43 assists and 124 points.
- Sophie Patton has a point in each of the last three games and notched her first assist as a Buckeye at Denver.
- Freshman Kampbell Stone has at least one goal in each of her first five collegiate games. She scored twice vs. both Kent State and Youngstown State. Stone leads the Buckeyes with 14 draw controls.
- Annie Hargraves is second for the Buckeyes with 12 draw controls. She was held scoreless for the first time this season at Denver and has six goals on the year.
- Emily Magalotti, a starter at midfield this season after playing defense in 2023, notched her first collegiate goal at Denver.
