COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's lacrosse team pulled away late in a 17-10 win over Butler Saturday afternoon in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium. The game was the first between the Buckeyes, who are now 5-1, and Bulldogs (1-4).

Ohio State led 3-2 after the first quarter and 8-4 at halftime. The Bulldogs drew within one late in the third quarter but the Buckeyes were ahead 10-8 through 45 minutes. It was again a one-goal game with 11:42 left in the fourth. Ohio State shut out the Bulldogs the rest of the way while scoring six times for the victory.

Jamie Lasda led the Buckeyes with five goals and six points, while Brynn Ammerman had her first career hat trick and added two assists for five points. Annie Hargraves, Emily Magalotti and Leah Sax each scored twice, with Zoe Coleman posting three points on a goal and two assists. Regan Alexander made 12 saves in the win. Alexander had a team-best three ground balls and two caused turnovers and Hargraves led Ohio state with five draw controls.

Ohio State is in a stretch with three of four games at home. The Buckeyes' Big Ten opener is at No. 6 Michigan Thursday. Ohio State will then host Marquette at 1 p.m. March 12 and No. 9 Maryland at 1 p.m. March 16. Admission and parking are free for all home games in Ohio State Lacrosse Stadium.

How it Happened
- Butler scored the game's first two goals, at 12:41 and 9:44, before Ohio State went on a six-goal run.
- Annie Hargraves put Ohio State on the board at 6:32 and Brynn Ammerman tied the game at 4:56.
- Ammerman then found Jamie Lasda in front for a 3-2 Buckeye lead at 4:01. Ohio State carried the one-goal lead into the first quarter break.
- The Buckeyes netted the first three goals of quarter two for a 6-2 lead at 12:35. Leah Sax scored on a free position shot 50 seconds into the quarter, followed by unassisted goals from Kampbell Stone and Ammerman.
- Butler's Luci Selander scored back-to-back for a 6-4 game, but Ohio State scored the last two of the half for an 8-4 contest.
- Ammerman tallied with the Buckeyes player-up at 5:02 and Lasda converted a free position shot at 2:24.
- The Bulldogs outscored the Buckeyes 4-2 in the third quarter for a 10-8 Buckeye lead through three quarters.
- Butler notched the first two goals of the period, both in the first 3:06, to draw within two (8-6).
- Annie Hargraves responded with a free position goal at 7:13, but Butler tallied at 6:13 and 4:24 to make it a one-goal game (9-8).
- Lasda found Magalotti for a goal with 3:39 left and Ohio State carried a two-goal cushion into the fourth quarter.
- After a Lasda free position goal 52 seconds into the fourth, Butler scored the next two, at 12:39 and 11:42, for a one-goal game (11-10).

- Ohio State outshot Butler 33-29 and Regan Alexander made 12 saves in the Buckeye cage. Butler's goalie made 11 stops.
- Ohio State won 13-of-29 draw controls and Hargraves was first with five. The Buckeyes had the edge in ground balls, 13-10, led by Alexander with three. Alexander also had a team-best two caused turnovers.

- After a five-goal and six-point day, Lasda now leads the Buckeyes with 22 goals, ranking second with 23 points. She moved her scoring streak to 12 games and has 33 goals, 13 assists and 46 points in the stretch. In her career, Lasda has 86 goals, 44 assists and 130 points in 48 games. It was her fifth game with at least five goals as a Buckeye and her fifth with six or more points.
- Ammerman had her fifth multiple-goal game and first hat trick. It was her fourth career two-assist outing and her second game with more than four points. She leads Ohio State with 14 assists and 24 points.
- Magalotti, who scored her first collegiate goal last time out, had her first two-goal outing.
- Sax has two goals in five of six games this season and multiple points in all six. She has 11 goals and 13 points this year.
- Alexander had a second straight games with double-digit saves. She has 45 on the year.
- Patton has a point in each of the last four games.
- Stone has at least one goal in each of her first six collegiate games and has eight overall.
