COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's lacrosse team lost for the first time this season, falling to No. 9/10 Denver, 15-5, Friday afternoon in Denver. The Buckeyes are now 4-1 this year, with the Pioneers 2-1.

Denver led 4-1 after the first quarter and 8-1 at halftime. Each team scored twice in the third quarter and Denver pulled away in the fourth, with five of the seven goals, for the 15-5 final. Buckeye goalie Regan Alexander had a career-high 16 saves in the game. Leah Sax led Ohio State with a career-best two assists and three points.

How it Happened
- Denver opened the scoring at 13:08, answered by Buckeye freshman Kampbell Stone at 12:55.
- The Pioneers scored three goals in the final 5:53 of the first quarter for a 4-1 lead through 15 minutes.
- Ohio State was held scoreless in the second quarter and Denver scored four times, leading to an 8-1 DU lead at halftime.
- After Denver opened the scoring at 9:20 of the third, Ohio State notched the next two goals. Leah Sax tallied off an assist from Sophie Patton at 8:06 and then set up Brynn Ammerman for a goal at 5:19 on a fast break started by goalie Regan Alexander.
- The Pioneers notched the last goal of the quarter, scoring player-down at 1:26, for a 10-3 lead.
- With two goals in just over a minute in the fourth, Denver stretched the advantage to 12-3.
- A free position, player-up goal for the Buckeyes from Jamie Lasda at 4:35 ended the DU run.
- After a player-down goal from the Pioneers at 3:36, Sax found Emily Magalotti for a goal at 1:29.
- Denver scored twice in the final 40 seconds for the 15-5 final.
