Buckeyes Notch Fourth Win in a Row, Down Akron 18-3

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women's lacrosse team improved to 4-0 this season, as it posted an 18-3 win at Akron (1-3) Sunday afternoon in Akron, Ohio. A nine-goal run gave the Buckeyes an 11-2 lead at halftime and they outscored the Zips 7-1 in the second half for the victory.

Brynn Ammerman led the Buckeyes with five assists and six points and Jamie Lasda had five goals on the day. Casey Roberts posted four points with a hat trick and an assist, while Zoe Coleman had a goal and three assists for a four-point outing. Kate Tyack notched three points, including two goals, and Leah Sax had a two-goal game. Lilli Sherman recorded a team-best five ground balls and Kampbell Stone was first with four draw controls. Goalie Regan Alexander had three caused turnovers and four ground balls, along with three saves.

- Buckeye Jamie Lasda opened the scoring just 47 seconds into the contest, set up by Brynn Ammerman. Akron tied the game at 12:52, but just 39 seconds later Kampbell Stone converted a free position chance for a 2-1 Ohio State lead. The Zips notched a free position goal of their own at 6:09, converting player-up, to deadlock the score.
- That was the last Akron goal of the half. Ohio State scored twice before the end of the first quarter. Zoe Coleman set up Lasda at 2:44 and then scored a goal of her own on a free position chance with 58 seconds left for a 4-2 Ohio State lead after the first 15 minutes.
- It was all Buckeyes in the second quarter, as they outscored Akron 7-0. A player-up goal from Annie Hargraves on a free position opened the scoring at 9:17.
- Ohio State then scored six times in just over four minutes. Casey Roberts and Lasda each had two goals, with Leah Sax and Sophie Patton also finding the back of the cage. The Buckeyes were up 11-2 at the half.
- Just three goals were scored in the third quarter. Akron ended its scoreless streak at 9:44 on a free position chance. Roberts found Ammerman for a goal at 7:53 and Ammerman then assisted on a Lasda tally at 4:06. Â Â
- Ohio State shut out the Zips for the final 24:44 of the contest.
- In the fourth quarter, Roberts and Gabby Cleveland tallied at 12:13 and 8:12, respectively. Sax and Kate Tyack scored player-up goals in less than a minute and Coleman found Tyack for the game's final goal at 3:40.
- The Buckeyes outshot Akron 34-15 in the game, allowing no more than six shots in a quarter.
- Ohio State controlled 16-of-24 draw controls and the Zips had the slight edge in ground balls, 16-15.

- Brynn Ammerman had a career-high five assists and six points, passing the three helpers she had Friday at Youngstown State. She had four points, matching her career best, in each of the first three games before the six points against Akron. Ammerman leads Ohio State with 12 assists and 18 points, tying for third with six goals, which are all career bests.
- With a five-goal day, Jamie Lasda moved her scoring streak to 10. She has 27 goals, 12 assists and 39 points in the stretch and now has 80 goals, 43 assists and 123 points in her 46-game Buckeye career. She leads the Buckeyes with 16 goals this year. It was her second career five-goal game and fourth with five or more.
- Annie Hargraves has at least one goal in each of the first four games this year, as does Kampbell Stone.
- Kate Tyack had a second straight two-goal game and picked up an assist for her first game with three points. She has a goal in each of her first four collegiate outings.
- Casey Roberts had her third career hat trick and added an assist for a four-point day, one shy of the five-point outing she had against Louisville last March.
- Leah Sax has two goals in each of the first four games, which is her career best.
- The five ground balls were a career-high for Lilli Sherman. Â
- Zoe Coleman's three assists and four points were both a career best. It was her first career game with more than one helper and her second game with more than two points.
