
Beidelschies, Bruni, Kaczmar Named Big Ten Players to Watch

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State baseball pitchers Landon Beidelschies and Gavin Bruni and shortstop Henry Kaczmar have been named Big Ten Players to Watch, announced by the conference on Wednesday.
Sophomore lefty Beidelschies made 24 appearances on the mound in 2023 and led the pitching staff in saves with seven. He fanned 45 batters in 30.1 innings pitched and finished the year with a 4.15 ERA. Beidelschies was named to the Preseason All-Big Ten Team by Perfect Game and was also named a Top 100 Sophomore.
Southpaw Bruni compiled a 5-3 record last season and started in 14 games. He finished the season with a 4.87 ERA and struck out a career-high 73 in 57.1 innings tossed. Bruni is listed by Perfect Game and D1Baseball as one of the Big Ten's top MLB Draft prospects for 2024.
Kaczmar, who was selected to the Big Ten All-Freshman Team after the 2023 season, led the Buckeyes in hits with 61 and in RBIs with 46. He batted .293 on the year and also added 20 runs scored, 10 doubles, seven home runs and seven stolen bases. Kaczmar was named one of Top 50 Shortstops by D1Baseball and was named to the Preseason All-Big Ten Team by Perfect Game.
The Buckeyes open the 2024 season this weekend, facing Boston College, BYU and USC as part of the MLB Desert Invitational in Arizona.
