Swimming & Diving Welcomes Pitt for Senior Day

COLUMBUS, Ohio –The No. 6 Ohio State women's swimming and diving team and the No. 14 men's swimming and diving team welcome the Pitt Panthers to McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion on Friday, Feb. 2 for the Senior Day meet. Senior Day festivities will get underway at 2:30 p.m., with the meet to follow after at 3:00 p.m.

- The women's team is coming off a victory at the Tim Welsh Classic last weekend. They placed first with 1,635 total points, finishing over 800 points ahead of second-place Akron.
- The Buckeyes turned in automatic NCAA qualifying times in the 200 free relay (1:27.65), the 400 medley relay (3:30.38) and the 400 free relay (3:13.80).
- Maya Geringer won both distance events, winning the 500 free with an NCAA B standard time of 4:45.85 and winning the 1000 free with a time of 9:36.55.
- Hannah Bach earned two individual wins. She took first in the 100 breast (59.00) and the 200 breast (2:11.55), turning in NCAA B standard times in both events.
- Josephine Panitz was the winner of the 200 IM, touching the wall at 1:57.74, which is an NCAA B cut.
- Teresa Ivan placed first in the 50 free with an NCAA B standard time of 22.24.
- Janie Boyle placed second in both the 1-meter dive (303.95) and the 3-meter dive (332.75). Both of Boyle's scores are NCAA Zones qualifiers.
- Kyra Sommerstad swam the 400 IM in 4:11.00, which earned her a first-place finish and is an NCAA B standard time.
- Liberty Gilbert won the 200 free, finishing in 1:48.73.
- Amy Fulmer placed first in the 200 back with an NCAA B cut of 51.76. She had a strong weekend overall and earned Big Ten Swimmer of the Week honors.
- Katherine Zenick won the 100 free, touching the wall at 48.30, which is an NCAA B standard time.
- Jessica Eden placed first in the 200 fly with an NCAA B standard time of 1:57.12.
- The Buckeye men placed second at the Tim Welsh Classic, behind No. 12 Notre Dame.
- Charlie Clark earned Big Ten Swimmer of the Week honors after winning both distance events at the Tim Welsh Classic. He placed first in the 500 free with an NCAA B standard time of 4:18.54 and first in the 1000 free with a time of 8:49.68.
- Alex Axon was the winner of the 200 free, finishing in 1:35.94.
- Chachi Gustafson placed first in the 200 fly with an NCAA B cut time of 1:44.11.
- Clayton Chaplin placed second in the 3-meter dive with an overall score of 396.80 and third in the 1-meter dive with a score of 364.50. Both are NCAA Zones qualifying scores.
- The relay team of Tristan Jankovics, Ruslan Gaziev, Axon and Shaw Satterfield placed first in the 800 free relay with a time of 6:22.15.
- The Buckeyes will host the Ohio State Winter Invitational at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion Feb. 16-18.
