COLUMBUS, Ohio – The 2024 Women's Ice Breaker Tournament comes to Columbus this weekend. The No. 2 Ohio State women's hockey team will host No. 12/13 Cornell, No. 13/14 Penn State and Stonehill in the semifinal-style tournament at Value City Arena in the Schottenstein Center.
The tournament starts Friday with game one between the Nittany Lions (6-2-0, 0-0-0 AHA) and Big Red (0-1-1, 0-0-0 ECAC) at noon, followed by game two between the Buckeyes (7-2-2, 4-2-2 WCHA) and Stonehill (1-6-1, 1-3-0 NEWHA) at 3 p.m.
Saturday's championship game between the winners of Friday's games is set for 4 p.m. The consolation game will be played at 1 p.m.
All four games will be streamed on B1G+ (subscription required) and live stats will be available at OhioStateBuckeyes.com.

Ohio State returns to conference play Nov. 1-2 at St. Thomas. The Buckeyes and Tommies face off Friday, Nov. 1 at 3 p.m. and Nov. 2 at 2 p.m. at the Saint Thomas Ice Arena in Mendota Heights, Minn.

- Seating will be general admission, and pricing will be consistent with regular season women's home game single game ticket prices, including $11 for adults and $9 for youth, students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased HERE.
- Friday's schedule at the Schottenstein Center includes a men's hockey game vs. Bowling Green at 7 p.m. That day, a women's and men's hockey ticket package, which includes one ticket to the Ice Breaker games and the men's hockey game vs. the Falcons, is available for purchase HERE.

- For Friday's women's hockey game, fans can park in the Gray lots. Ohio State football will be hosting Nebraska at noon Saturday and traffic will be heavy until kickoff. Fans attending the consolation game at 1 p.m. Saturday are recommended to arrive at noon or later to avoid traffic. Parking will be in the Gray 1 and 2 and Scarlet 1-5 lots adjacent to the Schottenstein Center. Fans attending the championship game are encouraged to arrive not later than 3 p.m. to avoid traffic leaving Ohio Stadium. Doors to the Schottenstein Center open at noon and will remain open until the end of the championship game.
- All four teams playing this weekend's Ice Breaker participated in the 2024 NCAA tournament.
- The tournament features three ranked opponents in No. 2 Ohio State, No. 11/12 Cornell and No. 12/13 Penn State.
- This season marks the fourth year the tournament has been held, after starting in 2019. A member of the WCHA has played in the tournament twice prior to this year and won each time.
- The tournament was created by the Hockey Commissioners Association in order to celebrate the start of the season with teams from a variety of Division I conferences. The event has a legislative exemption from the NCAA which allows the four participants to play two additional games above the normal limit of 34.
- This week, Ohio State plays three games in Columbus. The team earned a 5-1 win over No. 15 Mercyhurst Tuesday at the OSU Ice Rink ahead of the Ice Breaker.
- This weekend marks the first time since the 2015-16 season that the Buckeyes will play at Value City Arena. The team played Minnesota State Oct. 23-24 and swept the series, 5-3 and 4-0.
- Graduate alternate captain Amanda Thiele became the program's winningest goaltender Tuesday. The win was the 58th of her career. She has backstopped the Buckeyes to a national title and WCHA Final Faceoff title in her five-year career. The Milford, Mich. native has a career record of 58-10-2.
- Jenna Buglioni and Emma Peschel lead the team with 13 points on the year. Buglioni and Jordyn Petrie are tied with a team-high eight goals while Peschel paces the team with 12 assists.
- Buglioni leads the nation with three game-winning goals this season. She scored the Buckeyes' game-winners in both wins at St. Lawrence and the 4-3 win over Minnesota.
- Petrie, a freshman from Lincoln, Neb., leads rookies nationally in points (11) and goals (8). She is 10th in the country among first years in points per game (1.00).
- Ohio State head coach Nadine Muzerall, who is in her ninth season at the helm of the Buckeyes, earned her 200th win last weekend against Minnesota. She is 202-75-21 for her career at Ohio State.
- Emma Maltais, former Ohio State captain and current member of the PWHL Sceptres, was named to Hockey Canada's November Rivalry Series roster. She will face off against Buckeyes Cayla Barnes, Hannah Bilka and Joy Dunne on Team USA.
- Friday's matchup is the first meeting between Ohio State and Stonehill College.
- The 2024-25 season is the Skyhawks' third season as a program.
- Stonehill enters Friday's matchup 1-6-0 on the year.
- The Skyhawks are a member of the New England Women's Hockey Alliance and this weekend will be the first time the Buckeyes will play a team from the NEWHA.
