COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 2 Ohio State women's ice hockey team booked its ticket to the 2024 Women's Ice Breaker championship game with an 11-0 win over Stonehill Friday at Value City Arena in the Schottenstein Center. The Buckeyes (8-2-2, 4-2-2 WCHA) had eight players score and 13 register a point in the win.

How it Happened
- Ohio State started the game with a three-goal first period. Sloane Matthews and Joy Dunne capitalized on rebounds in front of the Stonehill goal at 5:40 and 7:00 in the frame to put the Buckeyes up 2-0 in the first 10 minutes.
- Josie St. Martin scored the Buckeyes' next two goals, her first at the 17:54 mark in the first period and the second at 12:23 in the second. She sent the puck between the legs of Stonehill goaltender Alexsa Caron for the first goal and beat Carson 1-on-1 for the second.
- After she had a goal called back for goaltender interference earlier in the period, Jocelyn Amos lit the lamp at 13:34 in the middle frame to put the Buckeyes up 5-0 after two periods. She buried a loose puck from the slot for the tally.
- The Buckeyes scored six goals in the final frame, including five in five minutes.
- Sara Swiderski started the third period scoring for Ohio State, redirecting a pass from Grace McCoshen past Caron at 5:14. A minute and nine seconds later, Maddi Wheeler scored on a rebounded puck off the boards for her second goal in two games to put the Buckeyes up, 7-0.
- Dunne tallied her second goal of the day a minute and a half later and Emma Peschel scored at 9:32 to extend the Ohio State lead to nine goals.
- Less than a minute after Peschel lit the lamp, Jenna Buglioni became the eighth Buckeye to score in the game. She found the back of the net at 10:27.
- Ohio State goaltender Lexington Secreto stopped a penalty shot with 4:06 to play in the game to keep the Skyhawks scoreless.
- Peschel tallied the Buckeyes' 11th and final goal with 2:29 to play in the game.
- Ohio State finished the day with 72 shots on goal and held Stonehill to just nine.
- Secreto earned her first start of her Buckeye career Friday night, making nine saves, including a penalty shot save, to earn the shut out. The result is also the New Windsor, N.Y. native's first career win.
- Kiara Zanon recorded her 100th career assist in the game. She now has 67 goals, 101 assists and 168 points for her career.
- Swiderski's goal is her first as a Buckeye and Matthews' tally was her first of the season.
- St. Martin (2G, 2A), Dunne (2G, 2A) and Matthews (1G, 3A) led the team with four points on the day, career bests for trio.
