COLUMBUS, Ohio – Fifteen members of the Ohio State softball team have earned Academic All-Big Ten honors, the conference office announced this afternoon. To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, student-athletes must be on a varsity team, as verified by being on the official squad list, have been enrolled full-time at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher.
The Buckeyes' 15 honorees represent 79 percent of eligible student-athletes. Two team members are now three-time honorees: Sam Hackenbracht, a human development and family science major and Tegan Cortelletti, a criminology and criminal justice major. Cortelletti and Meggie Otte, also a human development and family science major, graduated in May.
First-time Academic All-Big Ten members were four sophomores – Kaitlyn Farley, Kami Kortokrax, Reagan Milliken and Melina Wilkison – along with graduate student Jaycee Ruberti, who spent the final two seasons of her career with the Buckeyes.
