THOUGHTS ON THE MEET
Director Rosalind Joseph: "I'm incredibly proud of our 16 women and 13 men who represented the Buckeyes at the NCAA East First Round. To get here you have to be in the top-48 in this side of the country in your event – so it's no small feat.
To get OUT of the first round, you have to line up among the nation's best and compete to come out as the top-12 on this side of the country. That is exactly what we did this week and the result is a nice squad who will be moving on to represent us at the NCAA National Championship in Austin, Texas in two weeks.
Our student-athletes did a phenomenal job, but I also want to thank the coaching staff and support staff who have gotten them to this point. My coaches – Joel Brown, Sara Mason Vergote, Travis Coleman, Diego Flaquer and Victor Houston. My volunteer coaches who traveled with us – Coach Ebin, Coach Brill and Coach Hampton, and our athletic training and medical support staff – Sean Jones, Noah Kells, Paul Johnson and Natalie Stocker for holding us together and of course my Director of Operations, Fred Barends, who makes it all happen for our team behind the scenes. He orchestrates every detail (large and small) to make sure our student-athletes can perform at this elite level."
