
Title IX: Meg Mallon Dominant in World of Women’s Golf

Meg Mallon was a member of the Ohio State women's golf team from 1982-85 and went on to be one of the most successful players in program history.
Mallon was the runner up at the 1985 Big Ten Championships and earned All-Big Ten honors in both 1984 and 1985. She was inducted into the Ohio State Athletics Hall of Fame in 1996.
Following her career at Ohio State, she joined the LPGA Tour in 1987 and went on to win 18 events, including four majors. Her most dominant year of professional golf was 1991; she won four total events, including the Mazda LPGA Championship and the USGA Women's Open. She was named the Female Player of the Year by the Golf Writers Association of America and was selected as the Most Improved Player by Golf Digest.
Mallon went on to win the USGA Women's Open again in 2004 and she represented Team USA in the Solheim Cup eight times. She retired in 2010.
In addition to the OSU Athletics Hall of Fame, she has also been inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame, the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame, the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame and the Palm Beach County Hall of Fame.
